Zhao Zhan had a very deep sleep and not once did he have a nightmare. When he woke up, he saw Yue Jiaojiao lying by his side, entranced by a travel book.
"The room is a little dark, why didn't you light the oil lamp?"
"Oh, you're awake?" Yue Jiaojiao jumped in shock when she heard the sudden sound. "It's rare for you to sleep so soundly. I didn't want to wake you with the lights."
Zhao Zhan put her notebook aside, turned over, and pulled his lover into his arms.
He had just woken up and still looked dazed. He buried his head in the crook of Yue Jiaojiao's neck and said in a raspy voice, "In the future, you won't have to worry about me. Be careful not to hurt your eyes."
He was like a big child.
Yue Jiaojiao laughed and patted his back. "Alright, I'll remember this next time. I'll definitely light the oil lamp."
The two of them cuddled in bed for a while.
