Chapter 3 - What Is Your Real Purpose?

She pulled the fridge open and grabbed two cans of beer.

She closed it back and turned around, then returned to the living room and made her way into the guest room.

"I want to be alone. Don't disturb me, okay. I will be fine, don't worry." She said to Lisa, who was about to follow her into the guest room and shut the door on her face.

Lisa's eyes blinked rapidly, and with a deep sigh exiting her nose, she turned around and walked back to the living room.

....

Diana strolled towards the sofa near the glass window and sat down.

She crossed her legs and rested her head back, also taking a deep breath in the process.

"Sam..." The name slipped out of her tongue and she tightly shut her eyes.

How foolish she was to think that someone like Sam really loved her. To believe that someone who pitied and used her, loved her for a whole year.

She laughed at herself as she thought and sighed pessimistically.

She opened the can of beer and began to hurriedly gulp down the liquid.

She breathed heavily once she was done and used her hand to crush the can.

"You played with my heart, Sam. You hurt me! You used me and turned me into a joke. You showed me just how foolish and worthless I am." She chuckled cynically and stood up from the couch.

She walked towards the window and stared out into the horizon.

"Diana, you're not crazy and you know it. They are all lying, and all they want is to hurt you physically and mentally." She said as though trying to comfort herself, and tightly clenched her fist.

"It's okay, you can't get mad. You can't give them the satisfaction and be miserable." She berated herself the instant she felt she was about to get angry and had a smile emerge on her face.

"How do we get over a breakup? We simply go out and have fun." She cackled historically and turned around, then walked to the door and pulled it open.

Lisa, who was still seated on the chair and waiting for her to come out, immediately stood up from the sofa and hurried up to her.

She examined her from head to toe and pulled her into a warm hug. "I'm glad you're okay. I was scared for a moment that you would hurt yourself."

She smiled at her, but a bit confused by her words, Diana arched her brow at her. "What do you mean by that? You didn't really think that wanting to be alone was to hurt myself?"

She asked, and Lisa immediately shook her head at her. "No, not at all. That's not what I meant. I just...I just thought that you would go into your angry mode and, I don't know, spoil some things in there and probably hurt yourself to feel better. I mean, what he told you there was just... arghhh."

She groaned in anger, and Diana chucked softly. "It's fine. I am not going to cry over him or what he said to me. I mean, I have been treated like trash since I was a kid, so maybe that's why I don't let anything hurt me anymore, regardless of who."

She smiled and, still feeling quite sympathetic towards her, Lisa pulled her into a warm hug and caressed her hair.

"You're a very strong woman." She said to her, and Diana laughed softly. "Am I?" She asked in a gentle tone, and Lisa nodded at her.

"Yes, you are."

"I see." She pulled back from the hug and, as though having got a suggestion in mind, she squinted her eyes at Lisa with her lips curled up into a smirk.

"What is it now?" Lisa asked as she knew that whenever she did that with her eyes, she was definitely going to beg for something in the next moment.

"Let's go to the club." She suggested, and completely flabbergasted by such an idea, Lisa drew her head back.

"Diana, are you tipsy or something? When did you start going to the club?" She inquired, and Diana grabbed her by the shoulder, then stared deep into her eyes.

"Lisa, someone once told me that if you want to get over a breakup, all you have to do is have fun. And that technique is what I am about to apply." She smiled, and Lisa's eyes blinked furiously.

"Who told you that?" She asked in suspicion and Diana let go of her shoulder.

"Someone you don't know." She replied and walked into the restroom to take a very nice shower.

Seated in his room, Williams fiddled nervously with his fingers as though in deep thought.

He was unexpectedly jolted out of his thoughts when a knock came at the door.

"Who is it?" He asked in a bit of an annoyed tone, but no response came.

A deep growl escaped his throat and he proceeded to ignore whoever it was, but because the knocks kept coming repeatedly, he angrily sat up from the couch and stormed towards the door.

He pulled it open and his eyes instantly narrowed vehemently.

"Julia, what are you doing here?" He questioned in a displeased tone, but the young lady, who looked the age of twenty years, with blonde hair and blue eyes, smirked at him and pushed him aside.

She walked into his room and took a seat on the one-man sofa, then crossed her legs and smiled at him.

Wiliam let out a frustrated breath and shut the door.

He strolled back to the sofa and sat down, then interlocked his arms and fixed his questioning gaze on her.

"What are you doing here?" He pried with no emotion visible on his face, and Julia's smile widened even more.

"What is your real purpose for returning to Europe?"
