"What was that for?" Melody yelled after making sure her breath was stable while shooting daggers at him. She did enjoy the kiss but there was no way she was going to let him know that. After all, he kissed her without her permission.
She glared at him waiting for an answer then she saw a smirk on his face followed by his words, "Your punishment". His words rendered her speechless. Then slowly and slowly she got furious and increased the intensity of her glares.
"What sort of punishment was that? Is that how you punish all of your female employees?" she felt pissed at the thought of that. The thought of him kissing another girl the same way he kissed her did sit well with her. But then she heard his words,
"No. But that is how I punish my girlfriend. In other words, that is how I punish you". He said. Melody's expression at that moment was that of confusion but then it changed into a deep frown. "I am not your girlfriend, President Frost. So please stop all of this". Melody said exasperatedly.
"Then be my girlfriend, for real". She heard him say. Melody did not know whether to laugh or cry. Was this man even listening to a thing she said to him at all?
She thought that she had made everything quite clear but it seems that the man was giving a deaf ear to everything she ever said and is still saying.
"President Frost, I have told you before and I will say it again, I have no interest in the love department it will be better for us both if you will stop your advances".
Damian felt a pang in his heart the moment he heard her say he should stop his advances on her. Well, everything she said hurt him badly.
During their kiss, he felt like he had finally found his one. The one he was meant for and the one that was meant for him. The Way his body reacted to her and whenever she was near him, he had never felt that way with anyone else.
He was and is still sure that Melody has feelings for him too though it was just starting to bloom within her, the point is that it is there and he was going to nurture it until it fully blooms into the perfect relationship for them.
"I will not stop until you accept me. I will keep chasing until you have no choice but to say yes to me. I will get you to admit your feelings, Melody". He said to Melody.
"I have no feelings for you or anyone out there. So please stop making things difficult for me". Melody said, trying to get back her cool.
"Take your time Mel, I can wait for you until you are ready to open your heart to me and accept me. But note that I will curt you until then". Damian said and finally released her from his hold around her waist.
"..." Melody listened to him and did not know how to react. His words were replaying in her head over and over again. Did he just give her a pet name? Mel... She did not hate it rather it sounded good to her ears. She liked the way it sounded as it rolled out of his tongue.
"I should leave now President Frost since everything seems to be in place I am no longer needed here". She said knowing that she had to leave so she could clear her mind from the thoughts that were invading her mind. Staying around him would do her no good.
"Mmmm, you can leave". Damian stepped away from her and opened the door. Bowing slightly, Melody turned around and left.
Damian went back behind his desk and sat back down he leaned back against the seat and shut his eyes for a while before opening them and starting work on his laptop.
Melody walked back to her office not knowing what to think. She thought leaving Damian's office would help her get Damian out of her mind but she was failing miserably. All she could think of was him and the words he spoke to her,
"I will not stop until you accept me".
"I will keep chasing you until you have no choice but to say yes to me".
"Take your time Mel I can wait for you until you are ready".
These words kept ringing in her head. 'Would he say the same thing to me if were to know about my past? Won't he leave me just like everyone else did back then? Will, he still say those same words to her?' she questions herself.
She could not bring herself to believe that thought. Shoving all those thoughts and feelings aside, she once again raised the Walls of her heart and reinforced those walls with a newfound determination to not go through the Same pain again a second time in her life.
There was no way he would still say he loved her after finding out about her past. Keeping away from him will not only protect her but will also protect him from defamation.
She has come back not only to avenge her parents but also to prove her innocence to the world but people will always believe what they want and there is no telling what Damian will believe once the truth is out.
For this reason alone, she can't give her heart to anyone. She must guard her heart away from all men. In this life, it was just her and her mission to avenge the wrong that was done to her family. To make the people who hurt her to the point where she nearly could not return pay for their crimes.
With this thought in mind, she was able to push away Damian from her mind and awaken a new determination within herself. There was a cold glint that flashed across her eyes for a moment before it disappeared.
She returned her focus to her work and the day went on smoothly without thinking about what had happened early in the morning with Damian.
