After a moment of silence between them, Melody finally decided to speak. "Was it you who got me out of the city?"
"Yes, Miss Nova. I was the one who got you out". Smith replied.
"What of sister Margaret, who is she?" She asked again. "She is my elder sister. I could not trust anyone else with you other than her. So I sent you to her," Smith honestly replied.
"Thank you". Melody said in acknowledgment.
"I must keep you safe, boss. It has been my duty to do so". Smith said with a slightly bowed head.
Melody was taken aback by the new title. Did he still see her as his boss? Even when she had nothing anymore? She shook her head in denial.
"What is next?" Melody asked.
"I am waiting for your orders. I will do nothing without your instructions". Smith said with humility before his boss.
"I want to rest for today. Tomorrow, we can talk about what we will do". Melody said and rested her head on the seat's headrest.
"Alright, I will give you some space then". Smith said and stood up to leave.
"Isn't this your place?" Melody asked him after seeing him turning to leave.
Smith shook his head and said, "No. This place is for you. I wouldn't want to inconvenience you in any way. If you need me, you can call me at any time. I will be guarding you in the shadows".
Melody looked at him for a while and then nodded at him. He turned around again to leave but he stopped again to ask, " Should I look for a cook to come and serve you?"
Melody thought about it for a while and shook her head. "No. I will not be needed for now. I want to keep a low profile for now". She reasoned and Smith smiled and nodded to her and turned to leave but was stopped mid-step by When he heard Melody speak to him.
"I want as much information as you can get about them".Melody said with her eyes closed.
"will do, boss". Smith said and waited for a little while. When he confirmed that she had nothing else to say he headed out.
Melody ordered take-outs for her dinner and went to bed that night with much difficulty. However, although she tried hard she was not able to have a peaceful sleep. She turned here and there on the mattress trying to find the perfect spot but she just could not find it.
It was not that the mattress was uncomfortable but, something about being back in this city was making her uncomfortable.
She woke up the next morning with an aching body and dark circles around her eyes evidencing the lack of proper sleep.
After having cereal for breakfast, she scrolled through her phone to find something she could do to kill time while slowly plotting her revenge. After spending some time searching the Internet, she found the job she thought was suitable for her.
She took a quick bath and got dressed. She applied a little makeup and left for Starlight Industries for an interview.
She walked for some distance to find a cab because from where she was a cab would not be able to get in since it was private property.

At the same time in a black SUV, Damian was sitting with a poker face as he always does every day heading to the office. The driver did not seem bothered at all by the man's cold attitude and neither did the two other people sitting in the car. They seem to have grown used to it all.
"Damian, you need to find yourself a girl once in a while you know. You are a man and not an iceberg". Lloyd one of his friends said pushing him lightly on his shoulder but the man did not give any heed to his friend's words.
"Damian... seriously though, Lloyd is not wrong. I stand with him this time. You need to loosen up a little. I don't know what or who you are waiting for but you have to give it a try". Ezekiel, the other man in the car said.
Damian just turned and gave them both an icy glare that almost made them go on their knees begging for mercy. He turned his focus back to look out the window and his eyes caught a certain woman and ordered the driver to stop the car.
Everyone in the car was confused at the sudden order but eventually, the car came to a stop. Following his gaze, they all stared out the window and their jaws dropped.
They saw a woman kneeing a man who tried to steal her purse in the groin and a kick to his side that sent him staggering back a few steps before falling on his knees and coughing.
She put her glasses back on her face, adjusted her bag, and walked past the man as if nothing had happened. She halted a cab and got in before disappearing from their sight.
"Wooo. What a tigress!" Lloyd exclaimed sat back on his side and returned his focus to the road as the driver started the car and drove off once again. While Lloyd was looking at the front, Ezekiel was studying Damian and saw the slight change in his expression and smiled as he saw that.
He took a silent oath to find out who the girl was that was able to make the iceberg change in his expression. She was not the first female they have seen being all tough but none of the others was able to bring a change to this friend of his.
He sat silent thinking of how and where to find her again. He was going to try hooking her up with his friend.
