Halfway through the journey, He Juan received a call from an encrypted number. He slipped on the earpiece and accepted the call, "Yes, what is it?"
Mu Yuze stole a glance from the shotgun seat and saw a cold, almost sinister sneer forming on He Juan's lips. It wasn't often that he caught such a dark expression on his otherwise kind and gentle Gege, and he couldn't help but stare a little longer.
"Alright, I understand," He Juan said to the other end. "Thank you for your hard work." Ending the call, he took off the earpiece and casually tossed it onto the dashboard.
Mu Yuze inquired tentatively, "Is there a problem?"
"Nothing," He Juan chuckled – not the warm and affectionate one, but rather a smile that didn't reach his eyes. "Luo Xuan was moved out of the ICU, and the first news he heard was Walker's death and the Manipulator being marked as the perpetrator, becoming a wanted criminal. He was so enraged that he almost entered the ICU again."
