Liem grinned, "perhaps we should try waking her." he pressed his case despite Zander shaking his head not to, and continued, "how do you know the fall didn't cause permanent brain damage?"
Zander was used to Liem's twisted sense of humor by now.
"I'm certain the woman will awaken in due time, just be patient," his tone was not subtle.
Despite his annoyance his hands calmly went to work as Zander bent over her slightly, taking his time to adjust the fur cloak around her so that she would be warmer.
The last thing he wanted was her to feel chilled and get sick on his watch.
As she slept she perspired from the heat of the fire in the cave, small beads of perspiration like fresh mountain dew on golden skin.
Her hair smelled like roses and had a glossy sheen as black as as a vulture's feathered wing, her brows were knitted as if whatever she dreamt about perplexed her spirit.
