After nearly two hours of grueling meetings, Emily finally threw herself onto the office chair and exhaled. The deal had been concluded, and all the partners had already left, leaving Emily some time to relax on her own—that is, until there was a knock on her office door.
Emily groaned, irritated at someone who had disturbed her few minutes of peace before enduring yet another one of her grueling meetings.
"Come in!" she yelled. The door opened, and Layla, Angelo's secretary, poked her head into Emily's office.
"Madam, I believe that there's someone here to see you," Layla informed Emily, who raised an eyebrow. Emily was well aware that she had a countless number of people that she needed to meet, and for Layla to not mention the name of the person that was there to see her simply annoyed her.
"Can I please have a person's name?" Emily asked, but Layla remained quiet.
