"Here you go, madam, this is her cell," the station commander told Emily, and just as he was finished speaking, Emily saw Angelo's mother lift up her head, and both their eyes met.
Emily quickly turned away from the woman, who was supposedly her mother-in-law. She then flashed a smile at the station commander and thanked him.
"You have only ten minutes to converse with this woman, and after that, I will send one of my men to fetch you," he told her, and just then, Emily was left with a surprised expression on her face.
"Ten minutes? Why only ten minutes?" Emily asked with great urgency.
"Normally only one person is allowed to see the prisoner for a total of twenty minutes per day, but someone else was already here for ten minutes prior," the station commander informed Emily, and this prompted her to ask further questions.
