Working in a large corporation was a little hard for Cindy Richards because of the huge workload. Sharon Toll also did not give her an easy time. She always came over to berate her, "Is that how you draw? Even a child can do better than you are!"
Cindy Richards had been assigned to a team of four members who were designers as well. The head of the team was Stanley Park and the others were Felix Hans, Ariana Stephens, and Paul Jobs. All three except Ariana Stephens were male and they welcomed Cindy Richards quite warmly.
Ariana Stephens quickly pulled Cindy Richards aside and said, "Sharon Toll is just like that, don't worry, she will warm up to you later!" She was very cute with her pink coloured hair and overalls with some sneakers. Cindy Richards found her quite attractive.
Cindy Richards wanted to laugh. She hardly believed anyone who thought she came here by sleeping around would warm up to her but she I not voice it out.
Stanley Park was very kind while Felix Hans and Paul Jobs did not show any reactions. Ariana Stephens stayed by her side probably because she finally found someone she could gossip with. She gave Cindy Richards all the Intel in just a short amount of time.
Ariana Stephens was drawing when she suddenly thought of something, "Oh, there are five teams in total here and ours is considered the bottom team."
Cindy Richards was curious, "Why is that?"
Ariana Stephens thought for a moment, "You already know how things are here. We design for top celebrities and every time a celebrity wants a design, we have a small competition and the drafts are sent over and whoever is picked will become the number one team"
Cindy Richards also thought for a while, "How many times have your designs been chosen?"
Ariana Stephens laughed nervously when Stanley Park, Felix Hans, and Paul Jobs looked at her but she still answered anyway, "Not even once!"
Cindy Richards was quite shocked, "Why is that?" she looked at the drawings and the designs the others had come up with and thought that they were quite well done.
Ariana Stephens shrugged, "I don't really know but Joanna Bloom's team has always emerged victorious!"
Cindy Richards was curious, "Joanna Bloom? Who is she?"
Ariana Stephens looked a bit angry, "She is not here yet but you will see her anyway. She acts as if the company belongs to her father and looks down on people quite a lot. There are also rumours that she might be the CEO's woman!"
Cindy Richards felt sweat forming in her brows but deep down she also felt something churning, "The CEO's woman?"
Ariana Stephens nodded, "There were rumours going around that she receives favours from the CEO and that is why many famous celebrities want her and her team to design their clothes. Someone like her, how could our team ever compete with them? Sharon Toll also dotes on her quite a lot and gives the best jobs to her. We are only given the smaller artists who are about to debut to style"
Ariana Stephens was voicing out her grievances. She was the only girl in their team so telling the other men what she felt was quite hard but now that Cindy Richards was her, she offloaded everything at once.
Cindy Richards thought about this situation for quite a while. Joanna Bloom being the CEO's woman was false. She was his wife and if she found out about him having an affair then she would break his legs! The people working here believed that though and from how Ariana Stephens was speaking, even she was afraid of this Joanna Bloom person.
There was a lot of competition here as many people wanted the top artists for themselves and it had become so unhealthy that people were wary of each other. Ariana Stephens explained more.
There were many other competitions within the team like every week each team was to submit a design that would be sent to be made for the company's clothing store. During the week, every team had to think about a design that was unique that could be made for both children and old people.
Most of the time though, they had to leave the company and work with the celebrities one-on-one and this depended on the design a celebrity had chosen.
It was pretty hectic. Cindy Richards had just joined when the weekly challenge was taking place. Stanley Park had given each and every one of them a task to complete by the end of the day and Cindy Richards worked that she even forgot she had a lunch appointment with Alexander Sterling.
Alexander Sterling was already at the hotel for about thirty minutes but Cindy Richards had still not shown up. He quickly took his phone to call her but his call was not answered.
He called Daniel Owens over, "What is going on at her end?"
Daniel Owens took the seat in front and answered, "The weekly challenge is on, they have been very busy. Madam is probably busy too. Do you want me to go bring her?"
Alexander Sterling thought about it for a moment and shook his head. If she was busy then that was fine but knowing Cindy Richards, she would probably go the whole day without eating. This made him very worried so she looked at Daniel Owens, "Buy lunch for everyone in their department and have someone send it over."
Daniel Owens nodded and started the preparations. He had never seen his boss caring so deeply about someone. Even his late wife did not get such treatment.
Back at the office, Daniel Owens was just delivering the food when he met Joanna Bloom on the way. The latter was dressed to the nines with a tight pencil skirt and six-inch heels. Her hair had been permed quite well and she was quite a beauty. She saw Daniel Owens and immediately rushed over, "Assistant Daniel, good afternoon?"
Daniel Owens nodded, "Are you just coming in?"
Joanna Bloom nodded, "I had to meet a client outside. You know the award season is coming up, right?"
Daniel Owens did not like Joanna Bloom very much but he still nodded anyway but he suddenly remembered that Joanna Bloom was going up and handed the lunch boxes to her, "Send this up to your department, the boss has bought them for everyone."
Joanna Bloom nodded and carried them upstairs. They were a bit heavy but she did not complain. She got to her office and announced, "Come everyone, Boss has bought everyone lunch!"
