Venedict swiftly noticed the woman locking the door from the inside before turning back to face them with a stern expression, almost as if she anticipated their response.
The distant sound of security persistently attempting to enter could be heard, yet the woman appeared indifferent to the commotion....
Venedict couldn't shake off a growing unease, concerned that the woman might be dangerous, and her targets could be his friend Venice and her dad.
"What do you want from them?" Venedict asked the woman, feeling Venice trembling slightly in his embrace. She continued to avoid lifting her gaze, further burying her face into his chest.
The woman standing before them momentarily halted, locking eyes with Venedict.
She seemed perplexed as she also observed the young girl wrapped in his embrace, who adamantly avoided meeting her gaze.
