"Mommy, I'm getting bored here in the hospital. When can I get out?"
Venedict's voice echoed through the room as he played with the staff toy Rina had bought for him. There was a hint of impatience in his tone, evident from the fact that Venice had been discharged from the hospital a day earlier, leaving him alone to pass the time.
Occasionally, Rina's brother Jeffrey would visit, but his visits were infrequent and brief as he had returned to their home country not for leisure but to attend to business matters.
So, the frequent visitors they had were her dad and Denise, who couldn't visit today because they were preparing a surprise birthday celebration for Venedict. That's why it was just the two of them together now.
