Victor's glare grew even icier as Daniel's words sank in.
He clenched his fists, puzzled by how Daniel's smile managed to aggravate him.
In that moment, an overwhelming irritation surged through him.
"So, let me get this straight... you came to my condo and just walked in to pick up Rina? Why? Did Rina ask you to come get her?" Victor's voice dripped with frost toward Daniel.
Daniel's smile briefly faded, only to reappear on his lips again, further annoying him.
"No, she didn't call me, but I called her last night to let her know I'll pick her up here today... As her concerned friend, I'm here to ensure her safety and shield her from the prying eyes of the media," Daniel said.
He couldn't help but let out a sarcastic laugh as he looked at Daniel.
He couldn't quite explain it, but he felt a growing irritation towards Daniel ever since last night he called Rina, as if Daniel was fencing Rina off from him.
