"Have you forgotten anything at the clinic of your nagging friend?" David asked as he was currently driving to take me home.
"None, I think... " I replied.
"What about the baby's vitamins? Or maybe you've forgotten the instructions she gave you about taking care of yourself and prioritizing the baby," he added.
"Don't worry, with how many times Denise has reminded me of that, it feels like it's already been tattooed in my mind," I replied dispiritedly as I didn't have the energy to respond further, as even David had repeated those words to me several times, and I didn't want to risk being scolded for my response if I pointed it out.
"Good. Fortunately, she's skilled at engraving things in your mind... I might even consider get a tattoo next time," David said, delivering a remark so senseless that I looked at him with an expression that implied I had just heard the most nonsensical statement of the day.
