"Mommy!...Mom---my!" A sudden jolt coursed through me, prompting an instinctive hand-to-chest reaction as a diminutive hand playfully waved in front of my face. It was only then that I registered the hand belonged to Venedict.
"Ugh! Venedict?...Don't startle me like that!" I exclaimed in surprise, my focus shifting to my son.
"Well, mommy, I've been calling you for a while, but you weren't responding," he explained with a slight pout, his expression a mix of concern and mild annoyance.
"Huh? Uhm sorry,.. what is it do you need again, my dear?" I responded affectionately, realizing I must have been lost in deep thought for quite some time.
"Nothing mommy, but it seems like you're always daydreaming, since you attended a party with Uncledaddy!" He cutely remarked, and I responded with a light chuckle while playfully tousling his hair.
