The elevator descended steadily.
Outside, Sophia stood still, looking at her reflection on the shiny silver elevator door. She grimaced as she saw how she looked as pale as a ghost.
She let out a long sigh and looked away to hide her feeling of emptiness.
"Are you okay?" Lucia said tentatively as she looked intently at Sophia. "Look, it doesn't matter. There will always be another way."
Lucia felt sorry for Sophia as she had witnessed the argument between her and Alexander.
Wasn't Mr. Carter a good friend of Joe who was Lucia's cousin? So how could he be testy and irritable?
He left even before Sophia could finish her words. How dare he bully others in this way?
So, in Lucia's mind, Alexander's image hit rock bottom.
Inside the elevator, Alexander didn't look good either. He was staring at Ace. His expression was unreadable.
"Why did the elevator suddenly go down?"
