I totally wanted to make a U–turn and speed off, but Luna and her daughter were still in my car. I had no choice but to suck it up and drop them off at their doorstep.
"My wife is back!" Mitch, all dressed up, probably just got back from work. Seeing Luna get out of my car, he immediately rushed over to pick up Lily and enthusiastically greeted Luna.
Jones's gaze fell on me for a few seconds before shifting away
I also deliberately avoided Jones s gaze. Once Luna and Lily got out of the car, I was ready to leave.
"Hold on!" Mitch suddenly called out to me, "Eliana, could you give Jones a lift? He didn't bring his car and I don't have the time to drive him."
Hearing this, Luna gave me a knowing wink.
My instinct was to refuse, but Jones looked at me again; his eyes were complex and a bit repressed.
I let out a deep sigh, "Alright. Dr. Jones, I'll take you home"
