After I hung up the phone, Damon had already arrived.
His company seemed to be not far from here, so it didn't take him long to swing by
"Damon, you finally showed up! I thought you were going to bail on us!" Zoe ran over excitedly and hugged his arm as soon as she saw Damon.
Damon, looking a bit peeved, brushed her arms off and said, 'Let's just talk standing here. No need to hug"

Zoe was unfazed by their surprise. Hands on her hips, she said, "Quit it. You're picking up the tab today, OK?"
To Damon, footing the bill was no biggie. He didn't answer, but no answer was as good as a yes. Zoe immediately told her friends, "Alright, eat and drink whatever you want today. We've got a free ride"
