"Halt!"
Damon blocked Jones with his hand, his eyes full of anger. "What are you doing here?"
Jones chuckled coldly. "Looking for Eliana."
Jones pointed at me. I looked terrible, with Jones's words still echoing in my mind.
Catherine was back. That meant any attempts at rekindling my relationship with Damon were pointless.
It was time to set boundaries with Damon, but not now.
"Damon, let Jones go. I've already talked to him." I said to Damon.
Damon stared blankly at me. "What did you talk about?"
"I've always liked Eliana, and that hasn't changed. What did she tell you?" Jones answered for me.
This answer only infuriated Damon more. My past entanglement with Jones had caused several arguments between Damon and me, and now Jones was standing right in front of me.
I might have been scared before, but now, thinking of Catherine and Jones's words, I felt the need to protect myself.
