I guess I underestimated Ethan and Nancy.
Even though they were both behind bars, one only got a three–and–a–half–year sentence, and the other one got extradited due to her foreign nationality. It was hard to say if they were really punished or not.
But there was also some good news. Dad had finally been released, and new investigations into Joshua's death concluded that Ariel was the one to blame. Joshua was about to leave the city, but Ariel invited him over for one last time. He went, but never came back.
Hannah was so angry when she learned the truth about Joshua's death that she could have killed Ariel on the spot. But Ariel had already been arrested, so she could only be punished by law.
And it was not just about Joshua. Ariel had a lot of other dirty laundry that had been aired in the tapes that Nicole gave me. Even if she wasn't in jail, she'd be condemned by everyone.
