Lyov settled the flowers at her opposite bedside to the one Phoenix had placed the food, giving her a small smile.
"These flowers are from Alex. He hand-picked them from the garden and insisted we have them ready for you when you woke. He says he can't leave until his work is complete for the day, but you are taking up all of his thoughts."
She blinked in surprise, staring at the bright colored bouquet.
...She was surprised he did something like that. He was rarely the most...loud or emotive person, especially about his feelings toward her.
It made her smile softly to think about.
She reached up and picked up a flower, admiring its delicate petals and bringing it to her nose. "They're gorgeous..."
Snowball shifted on top of her and nudged her hand holding the flower, purring contently as he rubbed his nose against the soft petals.
