Isabelle rolled over, curling up and hugging the pillow tighter against her body. She groaned softly, shifting into a more comfortable position.
Her muscles ached. Everything felt stiff and sore.
She squeezed her eyes tightly closed as a dull ache pulsed through her skull. A slight frown crossed her lips.
Even if her fever had broken, the sickness wasn't over. She could still feel the ache deep within her bones, spreading across her muscles like poison seeping slowly through her veins.
"Isabelle? Are you awake?" a voice echoed from outside the door.
"...Kinda..." she muttered groggily, peeking out from the pillow, squinting at the bright light flooding through the window.
A door clicked open somewhere and footsteps approached quickly.
A blurry figure approached.
She blinked blearily up at them.
Tenshi looked worried, but when he saw her peering back at him his face relaxed slightly. "Isabelle...!" he whispered.
