Literally seconds later, she heard the door to her room open, and when she glanced up she saw that the object of her distraction had returned.
This time accompanied by a much taller, hotter distraction.
Snowball mewed as Tenshi scooped him up to hold in one hand while the other shut the door to the bedroom. "Ah, I'm...sorry...am I interrupting?" Tenshi asked a tad uncertainly. "I just saw you were alone and-"
He seemed hesitant to say more.
Isabelle hummed. "I think I'm allowed to slack off, since I'm the empress. But don't tell Archibald. Or Tieya."
Tenshi smiled hesitantly and then held the kitten out. "...Snowball was sitting at the door..."
She sighed and shook her head. "Silly kitten. He just ran out and he already wanted back...?"
Tenshi blushed and awkwardly handed over the bundle of fuzzy white to her.
Snowball mewled and jumped on her lap, purring contently.
"Come sit too, so I can pet you..." She gestured at Tenshi.
