Skyla woke up to loud noises coming from the living room. After hearing Amsilia's heartbreaking story and her promise that she would help her win her father's company back, Skyla had gone to sleep.
Now she awakened with a palpitating heart and cussing. From the noises, she could decipher that Doran had finally decided to come home and Amsilia had confronted him.
"So you decided to take her outside and abuse her? Did you leave her there? You are worse than an animal. I am ashamed to call you my son,"
Amsilia's sharp and raised voice came through the door followed by a thwacking sound.
Amsilia must have slapped him.
Silence followed a very deafening silence.
Skyla made haste. Gathering up the courage to let go of Cuddles, she climbed down the bed, put on her slippers and exited her room. Her steps hasty as she rushed along in her nightgown.
