While Zac thought about the situation he had caused, Amy saw her cell phone ringing as she finished brushing her teeth.
'What does he want?' She frowned as she saw Kai's contact calling her.
"Hello?"
"It's me," Kai said on the other end of the line in his usual tone.
"What do you want?" She got right to the point. "I wanted to sleep before I came to meet you."
After the first quiet days at home since Zac's attack, Amy was confident enough to go out at night again and get on with her work for The Vipers.
But she didn't leave the house until around 2 a.m., so she planned to sleep until then.
"It's nothing. I just called to see how you were doing. You've been with that brat Zac these days. Are you really coming back today? Are you ready to leave him alone?" Kai asked.
"I am. I'd rather not go out tonight, but I think things are back to normal, as you said. It's time for me to get back to work, as I should," she said firmly.
