Chapter 6 - Contract

Hurt and disappointed was what she could describe the state she was in. Selene's heart broke into pieces seeing the unapologetic gaze her husband threw her.

Out of words,Selene could only let tears flow down her cheeks ruining her makeup. Lilian walked to her, yanking her head to face her.

"What are you crying about?" She asked furiously. One who didn't know what was going on would have thought Selene was at fault.

"You took my man intentionally, didn't you bitch?" Lilian accused, pushing Selene's head violently.

Jackson's heart shuddered a bit at the sight before him. How Selene looked so helpless,he could have sworn she wasn't pretending. He had just found his lost childhood love but it seemed like it was too late.

"Lili, leave her, let's be on our way," Jake said, referring to Lilian.

Selene couldn't believe her ears, it was just minutes where they took their vows and now it seemed like they were strangers. He wasn't even willing to give it a try. Selene wiped her tears as she watched Jake wrap his arm around Lilian's shoulders escorting her out of the room. How could he not care to explain what was going on? Selene shook her head as if in denial. She couldn't still understand what her step sister meant by taking "her man" away.

Soon the after party was almost coming to an end. Selene paved her way silently among the crowds swallowing all her pain and flushing smiles to the guests. She couldn't show them her misery.

"Where have you been Selene? It's your day and you keep disappearing and leaving your man to that greedy monster you call a sister?" Charlotte said, sighing.

"Trust me, Jackson doesn't find her monstrous; on the contrary, I think he regrets not having married her," Selene said with so much anger in her voice.

"You can't say that recklessly, he seems to keep stealing glances at you, maybe you two are going to work out something," Charlotte said trying to cheer her up causing Selene

Everything seemed to be going in all the wrong direction. Selene looked at the front door in expectation. It had been hours since she was dropped off but her husband was nowhere in sight. The worst thing was she didn't even have his contact details.

She needed clarification about the way forward in their marriage. She couldn't just ignore what she saw earlier. She heard the front door open, checking the wall clock. It was past midnight. She didn't realize she had fallen asleep on the couch.

"What are you doing up at this time?" Jake said his speech slurred. He looked drunk and tired. Selene walked towards him, not sure whether to bring up her planned conversation at the moment.

"I was waiting for you," she muttered instead. Jake let out a deep bellow laughter as if she just cracked a joke.

"Ooh, were you waiting for me to fulfill your wifely duties on our wedding night?" He asked seductively, walking towards her.

"No, not like that, I wanted us to talk," Selene said, taking steps back. She somehow felt excited on the image of her waiting for him on their first wedding night.

"Ooh but your eyes tell me a different thing," he stated, placing his arms on either side of the wall, trapping her between his arms.

Selene shivered in anticipation as his lips moved so close to hers that she could kiss him if she even attempted to move an inch closer.

"Jackson, I…" she stammered, avoiding his cold yet warm gaze.

"You what love?" He asked moving his body even closer so that their thighs were touching.

Jake blamed the excitement of his member on the drinks he'd had earlier. This woman would be the death of him. He repulsed her yet he couldn't stay away from her. Seeing her breathless,so near him turned him on even more. He smirked at her pushing his body more towards her pinning her to the wall.

"Tell me love, what do you want? Do you know what you do to me?" He asked with a husky lust filled voice. He could finally understand why no man could resist her,the thought of her in another man's arms making his blood boil.

He couldn't understand why even after finding his childhood love,he couldn't keep away from his wife. Selene was like a drug he needed ever since that night she slept so peacefully in his arms in his penthouse. She had been imprinted in his heart and head. Jake decided to give in this once, maybe after tonight the feeling will go away.

"Jake…you're too close i think," Selene said confused. She couldn't form the words well. His body heat enticed her like magic. She hadn't been with any man in her life consciously and willing. But feeling Jake's aroused member against her thigh make her jerk forward causing him to groan lowly.

"Don't do that love, you are playing a dangerous game," Jake warned softly, feeling his head clear from the alcohol and his control slipping away from her wrangling.

Selene felt a boost fill her, a new surge of confidence to test his limits. After all, the world would have to allow her to have her husband for just one night before a new dawn came. She moved her hips even harder against him, making him grip her waist firmly slamming her against him.

"Don't blame me for what will follow love," he warned, his voice so low that Selene could hardly hear his words.

"I won't," the words were out of her mouth before she could control them. Her brain seemed to be shouting red flags to her but It was as if her body and brain talked in different languages.

"Say that again love, let me make you feel like the queen you are," Jake said in overexcitement. His body seemed to be on fire craving only the woman before him. He wanted to devour her, destroy her in ways he only could know.

"Love me tonight Jake," Selene said the words boldly as if claiming her share of fairness from the world.

Jake wanted to hear no more, those words were enough to sweep her from her feet with a toe curling kiss as he carried her to the bedroom.
