Chapter 26 - A week (III)

[DAY 4]

Miss Bivia Chang's heels sounded loudly in the hallway.

She was upset. Very upset.

'How dare them! These bastards from CJ dare to deny everything?!'

Yesterday, she had been smiling when the concrete evidence showed up on the net. That was what she had been looking for.

Yet afterwards, these shameless bastards denied everything and even made up a fake one!

Miss Bivia Chang stopped walking and calmed herself down.

'It's alright. There are still many ways... Once I got my hands on that shitty piece of paper and prove to those fools that it's goddamn fake, they're doomed...'

After taking a deep breath, she continued walking towards Prosecutor Huo Dian's office.

Huo Dian just came back to his office after his long leave for his grandfather's funeral. He was studying the cases he needed to work on this month which had piled up quite a bit. He massaged his aching temples, leaned back, and took a sip of his coffee. It was still morning yet he already felt tired.

Suddenly, the door was opened with great momentum as a female warrior ready for battle came in.

Due to the sudden intrusion, Huo Dian accidentally splashed a bit of coffee on the documents he was working on.

"..."

'What a shitty morning....'

Yet he could not get angry at the woman in front of him who was obviously letting out frigid blasts of air. He ended up chuckling at her appearance akin to a cat whose tail got stepped on.

"What's the matter Bivia? Are you on your period?" He grinned cheekily. He seemed to forget that he was in a bad mood. Right, he got a 'thing' towards this famous ice queen, although she now looked more like a flaming warrior.

Seeing Huo Dian's cheeky grin worsened Bivia's mood. She felt like punching the guy. Perhaps, it was because she really wanted to punch someone right now to vent her anger.

"Ah Dian, we need to file a re-investigation on CJ's case," Lawyer Chang said as she tried to cool her temper.

Huo Dian raised his brows. About that case?

"What for?" Was not the trial already at hand?

Lawyer Chang rolled her eyes. It appeared that Huo Dian did not know it was related to Xiao Mei. With all patience she could muster, she told him of the trending news and explained everything to Huo Dian, including the deal with Xiong Zhi.

Huo Dian was shocked. Because he had just returned to office, he did not know that the suspect was Xiao Mei.

"Xiao Mei would never do that! She could not even bear to spit on the ground. It was obviously a frame up."

"I know. Look at this." Lawyer Chang took the laptop in Huo Dian's table and typed for a moment. An article came out.

Inside the office, two people squeezed side by side, reading what was written on the screen. Then they went to another website, checked out CJ's website, and went back to the first article again.

"Then what are you worried for? They're doomed," Huo Dian said with a knowing smile.

"They really are fools. They think the case will not be re-investigated anymore since they bribed all the officials and judges handling the case. Did they really think apologizing and creating fake documents will save them? Really a bunch of fools," she sneered.

The fact that they even tried such a repulsive way to cover up, although it was useless, was the most disgusting to her!

"They were trying to save their image to the public, like a cornered rat, so they did that. I'll go to the chief," Huo Dian said and stood up. He was about to leave when Lawyer Chang asked.

"What if he opposed?"

Huo Dian threw her a charming grin.

"You know the answer." He winked and left the room.

Lawyer Chang took a deep breath and fell silent for a moment. Afterwards, she smiled wryly to herself. Her bad mood was gone.

'Right, I really should stop wasting my anger on these dying bugs.'

'After all, these officials can ignore us, but they cannot ignore the public.'

Meanwhile in SHM, the four guys was busying themselves with editing, typing, posting, commenting, and cursing.

"This CJ evolved down from an animal to an insect. I really want to squash them!" - Gi Pieng (the thin man)

"What are you mad for? They will be ruined anyway." - Xian Tao (the fatty)

"But why must they bring up our past works?" - Gi Pieng

"What's wrong with our past works? They are all true." - Mu Fian (the muscled guy)

"Yeah, but they are low-class." -Gi Pieng

"Just let them eat their words, post the next evidence, stop bickering." - Lin Ruo (the lean guy with glasses)

They posted the next evidence. These were the financial accounts of the president, board of directors, and Xiao Mei. They were followed by an article whose contents were centered 'where they get that much money every 15 days', 'how come Xiao Mei's deposits in her account is this little if she is smuggling the diamonds?' and so on.

Many netizens commented, demanding if the picture was true or not.

The article yet again skyrocketed to the tallest building.

The four staff of SHM waited for hours. When they saw that people was finally torn in half, some were agreeing with them and some accusing them of twisting truth, they posted another file.

It was the GXX Company that CJ was contracted to, the supplier of genuine diamonds. They posted GXX Company's inventory and transactions. They circled the amount of diamonds that CJ get from that company and made a comparison between the numbers of the diamonds that CJ received and released. When SHM produced the result, the public was shocked again. The difference was really big. Every month, CJ ordered 85/85 diamonds from GXX company but the number they released was 175/85. Where did they get the remaining 90 diamonds every month?

(A/N : those who are lazy to understand what I'm saying here... 85/85, is 85 out of 85 diamonds, it is in somewhat percentage, 85/85=1 whole, like 1 batch. 175/85 = 175-85= 90, means 175 release of diamonds from 85 they received. So the 90, where did they get it? SHM was saying the 90 were all fakes that they smuggled and sell. )

***[RR]: oohhh...I'll just skip it XD***

(A/N : it's fine...I'm also nose bleeding here XD )

The people started to contact GXX Company to check.

However, the GXX Company did not give out any response.

Seeing this article, Lawyer Chang's mood turned up for the better. She grinned. For sure, people would be convinced more!

As she said, the people who was siding with CJ started to doubt. If the SHM's posted file was fake, the GXX Company should have released an immediate statement of denial. But they chose to be quiet.

In truth, the GXX Company received a call from CJ Company. The CJ Company told them to not issue any response releasing their inventory to the public.

When the GXX Company heard this, they knew that something was really going on. Although dissatisfied, the CJ Company was a big client for them. They did not want to lose a long time business partner. That would be a huge loss. But they also could not side with CJ as their image and reputation was at stake. Thus, they chose to be quiet.

However, this made people speculate ideas regarding the issue. This brought another level to the controversy.

------------

Inside the chief's office, an old man in his sixties massaged his knuckles. He looked at the young man in front of him.

The young man repeated, "Chief, this case needed a reinvestigation. There are many evidences against CJ now."

The chief sighed and rubbed his temples.

"They are only rumors. We cannot reinvestigate since the last investigation was already approved by the higher ups. Besides, didn't CJ released their explanation already? It was all a misunderstanding."

The young man's expression remained the same, but inwardly, 'You just don't want to, because you received bribes from them.'

Huo Dian tightly closed his mouth to stop himself from saying this.

"Chief, I hope you're still the chief I knew from the past, who would never help someone who wanted to destroy innocents' lives for their greed." And with that, he excused himself.

Next time he comes here, he would bring the public with him.

___

The evening came.

The bomb that had fallen to the media was still spreading its flame everywhere. Wave after wave of fires put the people in heated discussions. Before the sun rose, they were all shouting the same demand:

"They must investigate!"
