Chapter 4 - Not my business

Turning away, I yelled, "Yeh, on the way." Turning back to the two, I waved and rushed to the other side.

The club has a wrap around bar; it is large with eight servers. This is the main room. There are also four private rooms; two are large with their own bartenders, poles and specific dancers for that night. The others are smaller rooms where the servers would take orders and collect the drinks. Beyond that, there is an area for lap dances and six minor rooms for private dances… "Hey, can I have…" The night continued smoothly. When it was over, I inhaled the fresh air, walking down the long road which would lead to the main road. Halfway, a car stopped beside me, driving slowly as I walked.

"Gooder, do you want a ride?" I pursed my lips in thought but knew that I will most likely walk home from here, that I had no energy to do at the moment, which would take an entire hour. It is best to get the ride and be home faster to catch some sleep before I woke up to swim and prepare for classes. "If it is not too much." I replied. Not long later, the door was opened and Brian showed his gorgeous self, slipped from the vehicle and opened the rear door. "Get in then." He said flash.

I spared him another glance before slipping in the vehicle's rear. Inside, the smell was quite nice. The music low and not too bad. "Which direction?" I leaned forward and spoke just loud enough for the driver to hear. The gorgeous dark chocolate. Secretly, I inhaled him, thinking he smelled delicious as well, but recovered. "Around the roundabout, turn left, two streets and then make a right on the third one. Drop me off by the tamarind tree." Finished, I sat back, releasing a low breath.

"Christmas will be in a few days. You have plans?"

"Yeh, I'll spend it with close friends."

"Oh, you have work before then? We can celebrate on Christmas eve."

"Sure. We knew each other a while now after all."

The vehicle finally arrived at the destination. Getting out and closing the door, I waved the two off and walked in the house's direction.

Fallen so far, my life is really disappointing. Entering the house, there was a cry of a child. I pursed my lips, trying to close the door gently. The owner of the house is a friend who had dropped out of university after she became pregnant to do online courses. Light-skinned, curly hair and almond eyes. She is short, with all the right curves, working as a housekeeper for the prominent villas in the J-parish. The indistinct sound of coughing could be heard followed by depressed groans and moans. Ignoring that, I walked to my room and closed the door.

The next morning, I rose with the sun and ran directly to the beach. The view is beautiful; golden sand, clear blue waters and the scent, so fresh. Stripping down to my swim suit I jumped in and swam until my arms and legs burned. Crawling from the water, I stood smiling from ear to ear at the pain before entering into a stretch immediately. Ten minutes later, finished I rushed back to the house. Upon entering, I met with the small girl of around three who rushed towards me. "Auntie. You leaving again?"

"Mm, I am, I have classes."

"Oh. You can take me with you?"

"Not today, but I will bring back something for you."

I said, tapping her button nose. The little girl was adorable, with curly golden hair, green eyes with flecks of brown and golden skin. With the island accent and dialect, I could not help but to embrace her in a tight hug. "Auntie, I can't breathe." I heard her say suddenly tapping me, releasing her. I stood to my full height as the little thing hugged my leg.

"Gooder. You have the thing? The light has to be paid and water."

"Yeh." Bending down to lift the little girl, I walked into my room and took up the stack of bills I had placed aside to pay my friend. Handing her the money I hugged the little thing closer, drowning her face with kisses. "Mm, aunty my face is wet."

The house has three bedrooms, a kitchen, front house (living room), dining room, and two bathrooms. It is also made from wood and wall with the characteristics of the late eighties design. This had been known as a chattel house until it had been redone fifteen years ago by her aunt before her death, giving the house a more modern feel and look. Normally, a chattel house is not built to stay permanently. It is built to be moved, but since the house and land are owned by her, then aunt, the house was extended and built to stay in place.

What had been two simple rooms were extended to what it was today, a fresh coat of paint and sturdy wooden furnishings.

Unlike the main house of my family, which was a plantation house with a total of ten bedrooms and fifteen bathrooms, two kitchens, indoor garden, tea room, receiving room, and that is, excluding the servants' quarters.

"I'll pay the bills today, thanks."

"It's OK. We had an agreement."

"You almost finish graduating?"

"Yeh, I still am a bit disbelief that they would put it so close to Christmas."

"It is what it is. OK, I have to go. Give me her." I handed over the small girl reluctantly. Glancing at the time, I saw that I still had two hours remaining. With that in mind, I took a shower, dressed, and was on my way at a leisurely pace.

Who would believe my life would change two days from now?

Two days later....

The day before I had a free day with pay. The owner had sent a message saying that he will be decorating, the bar so that day will be inconvenient.

Excluding tips, I made crying face. It was pitiful, but the pay had been doubled for that day, so it was not terrible at least.

Free, I studied and speaking with the brothers. The two did not look so well, but I thought it was not my business to ask them what is up.

The next day arrived with me following the same routine as usual, and like that night arrived.
