I woke up the next day and noticed clothes on my bed and sat up. I noticed a note beside the clothes then picked it up. It was a note from Kikyo saying she's allowing me to borrow her old clothes until we go out to get me some newer clothes. I got out of bed to get ready for the the day and register into St. Fraskia.
"So...do you think she will do good here?" Yumeji asked.
"I think so. Remember how she moved on the battleship? She was so fluent with her movements as if she's been in battle before. She's obviously trained, so I believe she will do good here." Kikyo said as she washed the dishes.
"She did have some impressive moves back there, but we all know that since she used to work for Judgement, she's gonna be on the front lines more often than us." Yumeji said then crossed her arms.
"You should worry more about your exams than the front lines of battle. If you haven't already realized, we are still B Rank. We are the last people to ever be in line of an important mission." Kikyo said.
"I-I know that! No need to rub it in my face!" Yumeji turned away from Kikyo then looked at the TV. "That new episode of Detective Mitsui is on. I'll record it so we can watch it together."
I walked out of the bathroom and walked to the living room in my academy clothes. They looked at me and I blushed slightly. "I'm ready.."
Kikyo smiled and nodded. She turned off the water then the three of us left the dorm room. We hurried to the elevator then rode to the first floor. We got off the elevator then rushed out of the dormitory and headed straight to the academy. Once we made it to the academy, we noticed Orishi standing at the front. She looked at us and looked at me. She tossed me a sword then I caught it and looked a bit surprised.
"This is your initiation. If you can beat me in a sparring match, I'll start you as a B Rank off the bat. If you lose then...you'll just have to start as a D Rank and work your way up the system." Orishi said.
I looked at Kikyo and Yumeji. They looked at me then watched me step forward. I got in my stance then looked at Orishi. "Sure...Yeah, let's do this."
Orishi smirked and summoned her great sword. She watched me closely and watched me run to her at full speed. I slashed at her and she parried me nearly immediately. I looked surprised then found my footing then blocked her attack and slid backwards. I looked at Orishi then noticed her running towards me. She slashed upwards and knocked my sword out of my hand then pointed her sword at my neck.
"Looks like you've got some training to do." Orishi smiled then crossed her arms. "Don't worry, we have some of the best teachers around. You'll be ranking up to B Rank in no time. Come on girls, let's help her register into our academy."
I was flabbergasted, speechless. It took less than a second for her to beat me and she didn't even have to hit me. Orishi opened my eyes to newer possibilities and made me see an entirely new world.
"Hisumi!" Kikyo grabbed my shoulder.
I broke out of my trance then looked at Kikyo. "Wha- Sorry, I was just surprised."
"Trust me, me and Yumeji had to go through the same thing and climbing the system in this school is hard because...Mmm. I'll let you figure that out yourself. Come on let's get you registered for class." Kikyo smiled then walked ahead.
I followed then inside of the academy and looked around. It was an all women academy. There were no guys attending here whatsoever. I noticed some women walking together in groups, some were loners, and some of them seemed new themselves.
"Excuse me." A woman said and I looked behind me.
I moved out of the way and noticed a woman with short pink hair, pink eyes and a bunny hair clip on her head. She carried a katana sheathed inside of a black scabbard with a bell tied around it. She walked past me and I watched her.
"That's Iori Aomine. She's a C Rank Valkyria and she's pretty skilled at fighting, she just gets very unlucky during exams." Yumeji said.
"What do you mean unlucky?" I asked.
"Well each time she takes the exam to rank up, she ends up getting out Student Council President as an opponent and she's an A Rank Valkyria." Yumeji said.
"What's the highest rank for a Valkyria?" I asked.
"Well you have D, C, B, A, S, SS, and SSS but you do have extra rankings such as EX-A, EX-S, EX-SS, and EX-SSS. So the highest ranking is EX-SSS. Only a Sovereign is capable of such a high rank though." Yumeji answered. "Our Principal is only an S Rank. To get to SS, and SSS you would need the strength of that ranking which is a Combat Level of 4 and a Power Level 3,500 for SS and a Combat Level of 8 and a Power Level of 7,000 for SSS Rank."
"You have both Combat Levels and Power Levels? How you keep track of that?" I asked.
"You can see your growth and stats using your profile page on an app called ValkyMe. You can use the ValkyMe to chat, text, call, and other stuff. Once you register, you'll be given a free personal phone. The phone can't be tracked or traced so Judgement won't be able to find you here." Yumeji smiled.
I nodded followed then inside the main office. We walked inside and Orishi went to the desk and I followed her. We got me registered into the academy within 20 minutes and the lady let me pick out a phone. I chose the blue cased phone and they even gave me a key chain to go with it. After everything was settled, we were off to class.
I used the map of the academy on my phone to find my classroom. I went to room D-102 and opened the door then noticed everyone was already in class. The teacher looked at me and smiled. I looked at her then the rest of the class.
"Class, we have a new student joining our academy. Would you like to introduce yourself?" She asked.
I walked inside and closed the door behind myself then walked to the front of and looked at everyone. I bowed and looked up. "Hello everyone. My name is Hisumi Nomura. I come from a different part of Japan named Yukihori. I am hoping to get stronger so I can complete a goal that is important to me."
A girl raised her hand and I looked at her. "What is your goal?"
"My goal is to destroy Judgement." I said.
When I said that, there were a few chatters amongst the students. The teacher clapped her hands together then the class went silent.
"That is an interesting dream and I wish you the best while you are here. My name is Alice Newton. I come from America to teach here in St. Fraskia. I used to teach over at St. Trinity before it was struck down by Judgement. Anyways, you can sit beside Orika. Orika can you raise your hand?" Alice asked.
A woman with blue pigtails and round opaque glasses rose her hand shyly. I looked at her then nodded and walked over to sit in the desk beside her. I set my bag down and took out my notebook. Orika looked at me and I noticed her look at me.
"H-Hello. My name is Orika Chiba. It's nice to meet you." Orika smiled shyly.
"Nice to meet you too." I smiled back at her.
"Alright class, today we will learn about the elements. There are only three usable elements that are effective in battle. These elements are fire, lightning, and ice. Fire as you know can burn the enemy and deal damage over time. Lightning may stun your opponent and cause them to stop attacking for a short period of time. Ice may freeze your target and render them basically useless on the battlefield. You do have other elements like Wind, Water, Light, and Dark, but those elements are rarely used." Alice said then began to write on the board. She turned around and looked at us. "Do we have any questions?"
I rose my hand then Alice pointed at me. "So...Are the last four elements not as viable in battle as Fire, Lightning, and Ice because I can come up with many uses for Wind, Water, Light, and Dark." I said.
"Oh? Tell me one about each of them." Alice said.
"Wind causes high knockback and can even deal extra damage to airborne enemies. Water can slow down a target and is guaranteed a freeze if combined with the Ice Element. Light can break through anyone's guard and can even blind the target. Dark has the ability to instantly kill any target weaker than the user at a chance. For example if I was to be an S Rank Valkyria and I fought a B Rank, I may kill them in one hit at a chance." I said.
"Mmm. You have a lot of experience and you are in fact correct. The last four elements are pretty strong, but they aren't as viable or reliable as Fire, Lightning, and Ice. Reason is those elements are either combo factors or out right luck based and we all know Lady Luck does what she wants. Fire, Lightning, and Ice are the main factors and don't require a lot of luck to execute." Alice said. "But you make some good points."
I wrote down what she said. If what she said is true then I may have to change my style of fighting. Judgement specializes in the last four elements and only few actually utilize Fire, Lightning, and Ice. I needed all the information I could obtain if I was going to even get close to Judgement's level or even get my revenge upon them.
