The bell rang and classes came to an end. I grabbed my bag then got a text from Yumeji.
Yumeji: Headed to the St. Fraskia Diner, wanna come with roomie?
I smiled at the text message then walked out of the classroom, texting Yumeji back.
Me: You bet.
I looked up from my phone then left the academy building. As I walked down the stairs I noticed Usagi with her group of friends. They seemed to be waiting for someone. When they noticed me, they walked to me and I knew then and there that I was that someone.
"I see you're still mad about that loss you took on the roof, but I don't have time to play. I've got somewhere to be." I said and tried to walk by her, but her friend stopped me. I sighed and stepped back. "What? A six on one? Are you THAT mad, woman?"
"It's not a six on one. It's a one on one. Me and you. Right now." Usagi said then got in her fighting stance.
I rolled my eyes then dropped my bag. I watched Usagi run to me and she went for a kick. I dodged her attack then grabbed her leg with both hands then spun her around then tossed her to her group. They caught her and looked surprised. A crowd began to form and began to cheer.
"Oh now...I am going to fuck you up!" Usagi yelled then ran to me again.
She went for multiple attacks and I dodged each one then she spun around and kicked. I caught her leg then my spirit energy surrounded my arm. I was going to elbow her leg, but she kicked my face with her other leg. I grunted and let her go then stepped backwards a bit.
Usagi laughed and looked at me. "How does that feel?! Now it's time for the real show!"
Usagi ran to me and punched my stomach. I grunted and clenched my teeth then coughed a little. I stumbled backwards then she rushed me with more punches then kicked me away. I slid backwards and coughed a bit then looked up.
"Damn she's got some endurance.." Usagi said.
I glared at her and my eyes shined then held my arm up and lightning crackled around my arm. "Allow me to give you a show now.."
"Wait!" Kikyo held me from behind and grunted when I began to try to escape her hold. "You can't use elements in an unofficial match! You'll hurt someone or even yourself!"
"Get off me, Kikyo!" I grunted and tried to pull away from her. "She deserves this!"
"For Sovereigns' sake. Alright people! Fight's over once again!" Orishi groaned and walked outside. Orishi looked at Usagi and sighed. "Detention."
"Wha-"
"Now." Orishi said.
Usagi groaned and walked off. "Come on girls.."
Usagi walked off then purposely bumped into Orishi. Orishi closed her eyes then walked forward and opened her eyes to look at me.
"It would appear the words peers don't mean shit to you does it?" Orishi asked.
I looked at her then looked away and the lightning around my arm vanished. "Sorry..."
"What harm would it be to just have her as a B Rank? She can control elements. Mainly the Lightning Element and probably Fire and Ice as well! She's a perfect fit for us!" Kikyo said.
Orishi looked at Kikyo then at me. "Hmph. Your exam will be tomorrow. Be at the St. Fraskia Battlefield by noon tomorrow. We will see how prepared you are for the B Rank then and every time you want to rank up, you will be faced against me. If you truly desire to get revenge, you'd better study hard and train harder."
I watched Orishi walk back into the academy building. I looked at Kikyo and she looked at me. She let me go and I looked away a bit. "Thanks...I guess."
"With your skills...D-Rank is pretty harsh and C-Rank isn't even your style. You deserve this B-Rank. Now come on, we don't want to keep Yumeji waiting too long." Kikyo smiled.
We went to the restaurant and we had dinner together with Yumeji. I kept thinking about Orishi's words and couldn't wait for the rematch between me and her. After one day of learning how to conjure the elements, I've began to get the hang of it during demonstration time in class.
After dinner and a bit of hanging out at the arcade, we headed off back to the dormitory then went inside of our dorm. I decided to take a bath and get ready for bed so I can be ready for the exam tomorrow.
The next day arrived and I walked out of my room, ready for the day. Kikyo and Yumeji looked at me and smiled then we all left the dorm together then headed to the academy. We walked together and Orika hurried over to me.
"Hisumi! Is it true?! You're taking an early exam?!" Orika asked.
"Yeah, but it's against Orishi. She's an A Rank Valkyria if I'm correct?" I asked.
"Close to being an S Rank. Even teachers have to take exams to rank up." Kikyo said.
I nodded and looked back at Orika. "I'm not sure if I'll pass, but I'll try my best."
"I believe in you." Orika smiled.
I nodded and the bell rang and marked the start of classes. We all went to our classes and I made sure to pay extra attention to what Alice said. I needed all the information I could get since Orishi is not an easy opponent what so ever. She mainly controls the fire element and is an adept fighter not to mention a Professor and is always on the front lines of an important mission. Beating her in battle will not only take a long time, but will need a well thought out strategy.
The bell rang and the clock struck noon then I grabbed my bag and headed towards the St. Fraskia Battlefield where the exams are held. I used the map on my phone to find the battlefield and once I reached the location I looked around, seeing stands and people sitting at the stands. There was a woman with long silver hair, and silver eyes. She wore blue academy clothes with a cape equipped on her. She seemed to be the head honcho of the academy. Beside her was a woman who looked like Yumeji except she had a bigger bust and shorter hair than Yumeji. Her eyes were also green instead of blue.
I walked ahead and noticed Orishi in front of me and she tossed me a sword then I caught it. I looked at Orishi then noticed her Spirit Energy around her body.
"The principal, Yusa Yukota, and the assistant, Sayoko Kugo, have come to watch the exam. We have other guests here but it's just the B Rankers so far. If you pass, you'll be able to become one step closer to your dream." Orishi said then flames surrounded her sword. "In the exams, elements are allowed. You do not need to hold back here!"
I looked at Orishi and set my bag down then kicked it aside. I got in my stance then lightning crackled around my arm then fused with my sword. "I understand."
"Come at me!" Orishi bellowed.
I ran to Orishi and yelled then slashed at her. She blocked my attack and the two elements caused a reaction between each other. An explosion happened and I grunted as I slid backwards a bit. The smoke cleared and Orishi was gone. I looked around then sensed an attack behind me. I turned around, but was too slow to dodge and Orishi roundhouse kicked me. I groaned as I was sent backwards. I rebounded off one hand then landed on my feet.
Orishi dashed to me and appeared in front of me. Her eyes shined as she slashed and I went to block the attack, but she knocked my sword out of my hand then kicked me away. I rolled in my side and grunted. She stuck the blade of her sword into the ground and looked at me. I slowly stood up and lightning crackled around my entire body.
"She's got the determination of a high ranking Valkyria." Yusa said.
"I can see her tenacity." Sayoko said.
I exhaled and dashed towards Orishi and swiped my arm. "Even without a sword...my arm is my blade!"
Orishi blocked my attacks then stuck her sword in the ground then slashed upwards. I grunted as I used my arms to block the attack. She broke through my guard using her unbelievable strength then knocked me in the air. She ran forward and jumped in the air. She slashed downward then sent me crashing to the ground. I rebounded off the ground then looked surprised when she appeared behind me. She slashed at my back multiple times then spun around.
"Victory Rush!" Orishi bellowed and slashed quickly at my body from all directions then kicked me away.
I hit the energy wall and my hair covered my eyes. I slid down the wall and my aura vanished. I noticed Orishi walking to me and held her hand out towards me. I looked up and noticed her smile.
"Seems like you've still got some training to do.." Orishi said.
I grabbed her hand then she helped me up. I grunted as my body jolted from the electricity coursing through my body. "Nngh..! My nerves...I can't feel my body at all.."
"You used a lot of elemental energy. You're still new to this, but you will get used to it and your body will adjust." Orishi said.
I looked at her then nodded. "Okay.."
"Now let's get you rested and fed. I'm always available at noon if you wish to take the exam again." Orishi said then led me to the resting room.
"Trust...when I get strong enough, I will beat you." I said.
"We will see about that." Orishi smiled.
