Dylan came about a few minutes after he fainted to the ground. His body was much stronger than a normal human and chloroform cannot hold him down for long.
Anxiously, he clung to the window sill and pulled himself up. "Nico... Nico don't leave me... I can't live without you. Nico.... I'm sorry.. Nico..."
Through his blurry senses, he heard the ship honk loudly. That's when he knew the ship was leaving and so was his mate...
"NOO!!! NOOOOO!!!" Dylan screamed loudly. The whole ground shook and so did the house.
He could not walk with all his strength though. He crawled to the door and pried it open.
"Oh my god. What happened to you," Killian pulled him up.
"Nico! Where is he? Find me him.. Killian, bring him here. I can't be without him..." his golden eyes trembled slightly.
Killian sighed. "He left with his brothers back to his island."
"Prepare the ship! Let's capture them again! Nico will stay with me as long as they are here!"
"No!" Killian grabbed his shoulders. "Alpha king... Wolfie, I'm talking as a friend. If you kidnap Nico's friends again, you will completely lose all opportunity to win him over.."
"I... how can I bring him here then? he.. he hates me... he rejected me," he wailed loudly.
His voice shook the entire building.
Killian sat there cupping his own ears. "You have to woo him!"
Wolfie paused. "I.. I am wooing him. I was doing so well until you barged in!"
"It was not my fault! You kidnapped his friends! If I was in his situation I would have definitely killed you off for even doing such a thing. Nico spared you... that means something."
"Nico loves me.."
"No he doesn't hate you enough the kill you. r he is not capable enough to kill you," Killian sighed. "You need to rectify your mistake right now, Wolfie. Dylan might be childish but he has a better grasp of how humans react to trouble. All you do is rage,"
"I don't rage!"
"You are doing that right now," Killian said massaging his forehead.
"I.. my mate just walked away rejecting me. I'm filled with anguish and sorrow... it's not rage... its desperation," Wolfie sat on the floor. "I want him Killian. He is the only one I was wanted. I.. I will do anything. The thousand years I spend in the past I will willingly exchange for a moment with him. I love him...."
Killian sat down beside him. Let's assess what happened. You kidnapped his friends. He hates you for that... so he ran away..
"No, he hates that his kind has gone extinct. He is angry that I didn't stop the wolves from killing the vampires." He said dejectedly.
"Ohh.... that's an issue. How are you going to resolve it?"
Wolfie sat up, patting his hands. "I have to rectify it somehow. I have to restore the balance. I have to help vampires rise to glory."
"The werewolves will hate you," Killian said with a small smile.
"They hated me when I banned electronics. Hate passes, but my mate is forever mine..."
Dylan's eyes changed into the normal shade of blue. He glanced out the window. "prepare the most amazing cruise ship we have. I will convince my mate to come with me,"
"Good luck~" Killian held a thumbs up.
"You're coming with me." he pulled him off the floor and both of them rushed to the port.
Meanwhile, Nicolai's ship had yet to reach their home.
Their ship was waiting at a safe distance from the island, waiting for the whirlpools to slow down.
Nicolai was blankly looking at the shimmering waters.
"Nico you can't be like this forever, tell us what happened? We can help. What did they do to you… please…" Raven gently cupped his face.
He shook his head. "I don't want to talk about it,"
"At least eat something.. I found bread here." he handed a piece of stale bread. "please… you are hurting yourself,"
He inadvertently remembered that anguish-filled scream from before.
"no….no…" Nico cupped his ear sobbing silently. "I don't want to eat…"
"Was he your beloved?" a small voice whispered from behind.
Darius stood there with a small bowl of water. "Elder… was he your beloved?"
Raven gave him a disapproving look. "Not now Darius please don't talk nonsense. Nico is already hurting and I don't…"
"He was my beloved…"
Raven froze. "w-what? he.. he really is your beloved?"
"was… he WAS my beloved. I rejected him…" Nico stood up, wiping his tears. "The waves are calming down. Let's sail. I don't want to listen to his screams….. Please."
Raven weirdly glanced at him. There were no screams heard around here. He gently patted his back. "okay.. sure…we'll be home soon. Don't worry…."
Their new ship was quite big so their journey was much faster. With a cloth said they were easily able to sail to their island with ease.
The ship could not get close to the shores though.
Everyone had to swim over to the shore. the adults each were in charge of one kid. Darius was in charge of Issac, Matt was in charge of hunter, Raven was with Elija and Nicolai was with Avery and Kiran.
Everyone carried the kids over to the shore with difficulty.
The raging waves crashed them into the shores.
Nicolai carried Kiran and Avery inside the small hut. "Everyone, get moving. We might have to find a new home. It.. I'm not sure how much food we are going to find there. So let's stock up for our travel. Raven and Darius set out traps for the crocs. We'll harvest as much blood as we can. Even if goes rancid, it can still work as food for us,"
"Enough!" Matt shouted. "Why do we have to move?"
Nicolai blankly glanced at him. "Our location has been compromised. we have to leave now,"
"Why, huh? It's all because of you! It's because of you that our location was compromised. It's because of you that we got kidnapped!! It's all because of you!!!"
Nicolai stumbled back from his verbal attack. Everything he said was the truth. Without him, they were living a pedal life. They were malnourished but they were safe.
Everything was destroyed when he came here and tried to change it.
"Matt!" Raven grabbed his shoulders. "stop it…"
"I won't! I'm only telling the truth! It's all because of him! he was the reason why we are running again! We had a home..! This home wrecker destroyed it all!"
"Shut it!!" Raven punched his face. "Enough blaming others. Without Nico, we all would have starved to death one day or another. So stop it…"
Matt dryly laughed. "You're all taking his side huh…. I knew it… you're all seduced by his powers his position as the elder… he doesn't even know how to make a decision. He had the perfect chance to kill him, yet he let him go. That darn alpha is going to come after us. what do you think will happen? Nico gets to stay reluctantly with his beloved while we will be burned alive!!! Get a reality, check Raven! he is the death star!"
Matt stormed out of the hut.
Raven stood there, unable to decide what to do. "Matt wait!" he ran out after him. "just wait," he grabbed a hold of his hand.
"Let go! You are also like him. Do you think we can live peacefully if we run? They will come for us.. they will hunt us down," he started to tremble.
Raven pulled him into a tight hug. "Even without Nico we could have been caught. We… we are vampires, Matt. Outcasts. We are the monsters. They would have hunted us down even without Nico… but with him we have hope."
Matt silently sobbed. "I'm scared… I don't feel any hope.. I only feel fear. That.. that alpha king the moment he appeared in front of me. I froze…I could not fight back… I.. I don't want to feel that again. I don't want to be helpless again."
"you are not helpless. You are the kindest and most amazing person there is." Raven gently patted his back. "I'm scared too…. I'm scared our lives would be taken away right in front of our eyes… but.. I don't let that fear get in the way of my life. you shouldn't either."
Matt wiped his cheek ferociously. "I was too harsh on Nico… he is our elder.. I kind of forgot that.. I just wanted to blame someone else…"
"He won't take it to heart.. but please… don't hurt him like that. That man in that house just rejected his beloved for us. The beloved who he had been waiting for thousand years. Please be compassionate with him. please.."
"I'll.. I'll see to it,"
Both of them returned to the Hut. Matt could not bring himself to apologize so he laid down and silently cried.
Nico sat in the corner of the hut. The four kids moved closer and cuddled in with him.
"Are you hurt Nico…" Kiran whispered n a very soft tone.
"Not physically… but mentally I am.. Every vampire has a beloved, a soul mate that they are gifted by the sun god. Mine happens to be the cruelest ruler in the world…" he gently caressed the child's face.
"do I have one…"' Kiran whispered.
"I don't know… but humans find love that is just as strong as our beloved bond. One day you will find love to,"
He glanced at the four kids. They all looked extremely tired.
"Did anyone hurt you guys? Scold you or hit you?"
Elijah puffed up his chest. "I protected them all. Brother Matt did not do anything though… he fears them a lot,"
"I see…" Nico gently kissed his cheeks. "Brother Matt had a very difficult life. it's okay for him to be scared."
"I was not scared," Elijah frowned.
"Everyone deals with their fears in their own way dear. Brother Matt… he shows it through anger."
