Chapter 36 - CH. 36: That's It

The scheduled test for her by the four teachers that her brother found were two weeks from this day forward, it is scheduled on the second Saturday of June.

'This feels like back to school time. Usually June is our summer class,' she was excited after receiving her brother's message.

"I'll do my best," she encouraged herself.

Despite having some knowledge about this, the people whom her brother found were seriously top notch.

Two of them came from europe, one from russia and another was the one who was at the top of Mycology, the study of fungi, within the country.

She asked her brother for different fields under biology, who would have thought he would find four different experts on four different fields.

If asked, one would focus on one field since each field has a large scope but Heather was like a wormhole, she does not have the photographic memory but she has high level of understanding.

She may not be able to memorize things at one glance but she can do so by understanding each of the word in front of her.

One with photographic memory could recite the exact words used in what one read but Heather can recite it differently but the concept was the same, after reading it two to three times.

It takes time but she was devouring the niformation differently.

Because sometimes photographic memory does not necessarily mean one is smart enough to explain what was learned by them.

They were simply able to memorize everything but when it comes to teaching what they've memorized, not everyone would be able to do so.

Heather was capable of such, in explaining things to others and sometimes even in a more simplified manner.

Heather took her time during these two weeks, not stepping out of teh house giving Amanda the impression that she does not have consistency in her acting, in the end she kept doing things that Susan would usually do.

Of course, she still has people watching Heather in the shadows and their report made her sigh in relief because Heather wasn't doing anything that will attract the attention of other people, just like what she suddenly did.

Those two events of her suddenly coming out and changing and her arguing with Kayla Brown caused people to start talking about her with Amanda again.

Something that deminished about a month after the marriage between the two.

Amanda's smile would alway turn stiff every single time Heather's name would come up to their conversation.

Because up to this point she was still acting like the good mother-in-law she is.

She plans on starting to spread rumours once she find some suitable next wife.

So that while the rumours are spreading and Heather's image solidifying as what the rumours say, Amanda can slowly pick from choices she found.

Cyrus, on the other hand, remained in his office once again.

His last talk with Heather does not sit right withing him that he didn't want to see her at all.

But hearing nothing from Ravier and his mother meant that Heather was once again staying low.

He remembered the books she was reading and realized that she must be studying seriously and it was not only a past time unlike what he thought in the beginning.

At first he was angered because of the field but after fixing her things and reading her notes, he realized that it really was different from Susan's field.

Then his next thought was that she must be bored that suddenly studying shouldn't be a shock.

Now that she lay lowed, he felt that both times he was wrong and Heather must be serious to what she was studying.

Admittedly, Heather studied engineering in a not known school. Graduated from it and that's it.

She simply took it up because of how challenging it is, she didn't care whether she scored high or low, something that never happened because she was always on top.

Anyway, she didn't care about the awards they wanted to give her on their graduation and the plans on letting her come to the city for competitions.

She didn't enter them and just took her diploma.

After all she just studied without any plans about anything else.

And yes, she jumped levels that she graduated at the age of twenty, the time she reappeared in the city before reappearing in front of Cyrus.

The school she came from was small that even if one were to look into it, they will simply think, 'Oh, so that's where she graduated.'

And that's it, nothing more.

One reason she came here was because she needed to take the licensure examination. Even if she studied it out of whim, she still took it seriously.

So when she married Cyrus, she was actually a licensed engineer.

She played with her exams that she didn't come out on top. Doing it just because she didn't want attention just like when she was studying.

The school knows her cpabilities but that's it, she didn't try bringing it out that the school could only grit their teeth because they did found a gem but the gem just refuses to come out of the rock.

Yet when she started studying Biology in her first life, Heather became attracted to it.

The very first time she found joy in her studies that she would even stay up late while reading books after books.

And the more she read the more she wanted to know.

She became so hungry of the knowledge regarding biology that what she truly lacks at this moment was simply the experience in handling all this.

'I wonder, maybe I can ask him to allow me to have a little lab of my own? They will just think that I am studying for my enjoyment, right? Plus the witch will be happier because I am not stepping out of the house.'

After such though she smiled before returning her attention to her books.

One after another, books after books were read by her.

And soon, the day of her examination came.

"Don't disturb me at the moment. I have an exam I needed to pass no matter what," she informed Ravier and Amelia.

Knowing that she had been studying nonstop over the past two weeks, they were no longer shocked.

But Ravier still asked, "Could it be that the young madam wants to enter university?"

They knew she had graduated but she was still young, they thought that it was not a shock if she were to enter again.

Heather smiled but shook her head, "No, but I will be having some online classes from time to time. I am loving what I am studying now. So wish me luck."

She pumped her fist in front of her and the two servants smiled, they too pumped their fists.

"Good luck."

"Hope you pass."

Heather nodded her head before entering the study room.

"I will go and prepare a lot of food, surely since she studied so hard her exam would be a hard one as well. She will surely be hungry once it is done," Amelia happily said.

Heather was interacting with them more and more.

And the more she does, the more Amelia felt closer to her. The more she felt that Cyrus should treat her better.

Not just Amelia but even Ravier felt the same.

He had interacted with her in just a short span of time but he can see that this person was a good one.

Heather sat in front of her laptop, opened it for the video call app and greeted the four faces that appeared in front of her.

"Hello, ma'am and sirs. It is my honor to have the chance to take an exam in order to be your student."

They all had a serious look, assessing her based on her eyes.

They didn't bother with the large amount of books on the shelf behind her because that could just be a cover up and thats he really was not good at it.

Heather knew they were scrutinizing her but she didn't stop smiling anbd waited for what they wanted her to do next.

"We will be sending you fourt test papers, each containing fifty questions. You print it where we can see it and then you will start answering. Remember, you have to answer all of them right in front of us and you only have one hour for each exam," the woman said to her in a strict voice.

Heather smiled again, "I understand, ma'am."

She then received four emails and just as they asked, her printed was already beside her.

She printed everything after showing them that the papers she printed on were all blank.

After printing, she showed it again and waited for them to give their go signal.

The woman who spoke a while ago was also the one who speak up, "You will start with Bacteria, your timer starts now."

She clicked the timer on her laptop just as Heather dove in her exam.

She can see that each question was on advance matters.

She knew the rest were the same but instead of feeling pressured, her eyes twinkled.

Her smile grew wider and her hands moved along the paper.

The four scientists couldn't help but to watch her closely.

It is the very first time they are seeing someone actually enjoy taking up an exam that makes others cry in frustration due to its difficulty.
