"There are so many events happening today, how am I supposed to know which one you are going to?" Zhang Xiaoling retorted as her brows drew close together.
"Well, if you must know..." Tang Enlai started while staring at her as he finally fixed his necktie.
"I'm going to the new perfume launch event hosted by Fang Bingwen."
Saying up to this point, he rose to his feet and moved to the couch. Propping his legs on the table, he leaned forward as his hands went to the laces to tighten them.
Watching him as her heart pounded loudly in her chest, Zhang Xiaoling felt a string cut in her heart.
"I wanted to come along with you and that's..."
"You are not coming with me." Tang Enlai said authoritatively before shifting his gaze back to his brown leather polished shoes.
There was not a hint of a smile in his voice as he meant every word he declared to her. He was not going to allow her to come to that event.
