Bree felt the glass shatter underneath her feet, the mirage broke and then she was falling. She couldn't open her eyes with the pieces of glass falling down at her face but at the same time, she couldn't help but panic. She was going to die, wasn't she? The greenhouse that was holding her down was gone and so were the hallucinations. Yakov and the others no longer looked at her with those eyes that the men in her past life used to, she was no longer tied to a chain with a collar around her neck. She was free.
But despite everything the wide chasm that was filled with black miasma was still there, it hasn't vanished and was still gushing under her with an intensity that she couldn't even fathom.
