Ahmar was indeed really happy, though he wasn't showing it on his face but inwardly he felt like a balloon was swelling inside him. He clenched his fingers that were still holding Bree's hand and tried to suck in as much warmth as he could in his cold skin—- she was really here, not with someone else, not in her office … but with him, because she was worried about him. He raised their intertwined hands—- slowly and very carefully, he pressed her lips against her skin and then placed that exceedingly warm hand against his cheek, basking in the touch of his mate.
" And master," Xander who was standing next to Ahmar's bed, cleared his throat and with a sly expression he looked at his master before whispering, " The Queen is weak against you acting weak and cute, why not try your strategy? Instead of acting like a hooligan? Act all dependent on her, maybe she will let you in her room and then you can get in her heart as well?"
