The next day, Melody woke up with a yawn and stretched her body to get some energy running through her bones. Leaving the bed she walked to the windows and pulled the curtains open welcoming the early morning sun to grace her with its presence and instantly illuminating the room with its brightness.
She followed her morning routine as usual since she arrived at Empire City. She went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth, went downstairs and made breakfast, ate, and went back upstairs for a bath.
Soon she was done and ready for another day at work. Dressed in a professional female maroon pantsuit with black heels little makeup on her face and a black purse she looked very elegant. She headed out and left for Starlight Industries.
She arrived at Starlight and walked into the building, the moment the employees at the front desk saw her, the silence was the only thing that could be heard. Melody noticed this and stopped her movement she turned and looked at them trying to spot the reason behind the silence that only came to life after her entrance.
When she realized what had caused the silence she inwardly cursed Damian for the way he introduced her at the meeting the previous day. She decided to address them and ease their worries. She walked to the middle where she knew everyone would be able to see and hear her properly.
"Good morning everyone". She greeted, her voice laced with confidence. Everyone's attention was instantly drawn to her even those that were passing by stopped when they heard her voice. At that moment Damian, Ezekiel, and Lloyd who had just arrived saw her and stopped beside the private elevator to hear what she was going to say.
"I never got the chance to introduce myself to you yesterday that is why I am going to do that now". She said and other confidence not wavering all the while giving off a graceful aura that brought a sense of ease to the people and at the same time warned them of something that they were not sure of.
"I am Melody Nova and the Secretary to President Frost. You do not have to fear me, I only hope that we can be friends who respect each other and work together as a team". She took a pause and watched the faces of the people before her. Seeing that they were listening she continued.
"I am not here to change the words of President Frost or oppose them, all that he said I will do. But I would like you all to know that you can come to me if you need assistance and I will help you to the best of my capability".
"I wish to make friends and not enemies. Respect me and I will respect you".
"With this, I hope we can all work together". She concluded.
There was a long pause as everyone wordlessly stared at her. After a few seconds and no one uttered a word, she walked to the elevator and left the front desk.
Damian walked into his elevator as soon as she left followed by Lloyd and Ezekiel.
After they were all gone whispers could be heard and each person was saying his or her thoughts concerning the words they had just heard from Melody.
While on the top floor of the skyscraper, Melody walked into her office, dropped her bag, and then headed to the President's office to see if everything was in order.
Upon arriving at the President's office she found Damian sitting leisurely with legs crossed like a king on his throne and a smirk on his face. She could hear her heart thump loudly in her rib cage seeing him like that.
"You are late Miss Nova". She heard him say.
"I am sorry President Frost. I will accept whatever punishment you have for me". She said. Instantly she saw a spark in Damian's eyes but it disappeared in an instant like it was never there.
"Are you sure about that?" he asked. His eyes turned dark all of a sudden.
Melody hesitated not knowing what to say. Her gut feeling was warning her about something dangerous but at the same time, she wanted to know what his punishment would be.
"Yes. I will accept whatever punishment you give to me". She said after much hesitation.
Damian's eyes turned darker as he stared at her. He rose from his seat and started approaching her slowly. With the way he moved, he looked like a predator sizing up its prey. Melody started having second thoughts about the decision that she had made.
She turned to walk back to the door and leave but Damian beat her to it. He locked the door and pulled out its key. He put it in his pocket and placed his hands on the door trapping her in between.
"President Frost, what do think you are doing? Let me go". Melody yelled but then she realized that she was in his office and started to panic thinking someone might have heard her.
"Don't worry darling the soundproof system is on and operating as we speak, so you can yell as much as you want". Damian said and lifted her chin with his hand.
"President Frost, I think it is a little too early for this..." Before she could complete her words Damian pressed his lips against hers shoving the rest of her words back down her throat. He could no longer fight the urge to kiss this woman who was causing chaos to his being, unknowingly.
Melody was stunned. The kiss was unexpected, but why was she enjoying the feel of his lips on hers rather than being irritated by it? She felt him deepening the kiss and sucking on her tongue and she gave up the attempt of pushing him away.
She was so tempted to wrap her arms around his neck and return his kiss but she fought the urge to do so. Standing still she allowed him to do as he wished. His lips were as soft as she had thought them to be.
Damian on the other hand was surprised that she stopped struggling, though he was disappointed that she did not respond to him it was still a dream come true for him. This was the very first real kiss he had ever had. All his previous kisses lacked passion and affection he just did it because his friends wanted him to be with a woman. He gave to the idea when he always felt bored during any form of intimate activity with them.
But this, although the woman was not responding, it felt real he could feel her and he knew she could feel him too. He had his arms around her waist as he licked and sucked on her lips.
Melody started running out of breath but he was not ready to stop. She started patting on his shoulder and he knew that she was out of breath and he released her.
"What was that for!" she yelled after catching her breath. Damian smirked and said, "Your punishment".
