Melody looked at the front and saw Gale standing right before the Ferris wheel and stopped moving immediately, her hands fisted beside her and her jaws clenched seeing him standing there.
She could remember their time together in the past. All the happy moments with him but none of those happy moments surpassed the moment he betrayed her. She may not have known his reasons for doing it but that did not justify his actions.
Seeing Melody stop moving, Abigail also stopped to see what made her stop. Following her gaze, she soon spotted Gale and her expression dimmed as well. She knew very well who he was and people who would ruin Melody's mood were the last set of people she would like to see.
She puts her hand on Melody's shoulder to remind her that she is not alone and that she is there with her. Melody looked at her, understanding her gesture she smiled in appreciation. "Do you still want to ride the Ferris wheel?" Abigail asked.
"Yes, that's why I came to the amusement park. I am not leaving without riding it". Melody said as her eyes turned sharp piercing the back of Gale.
"Okay then, let's go," Abigail said nodding her head to Melody.
They started walking once again ahead. Melody kept her eyes sharp staring at the back of Gale trying to reign in her emotions and not get the best of her.
Feeling the piercing gaze on his back for quite some time, Gale turned around to see who it could be that had been staring at him.
The moment he saw her his breath hitched and his heart started to pound very loudly in his ribcage. She was still looking the same as when he saw her the last time five years ago.
Nothing has changed in her appearance. She was still the same gorgeous woman he knew, her steps were as graceful as always. She didn't even seem to age at all. Still looks like someone who just got into her twenties and not a twenty-five-year-old woman. Her beauty was still unmatched.
Looking at her now, he had no idea what to say although he had been coming to this amusement park ever since he returned with the hope to see her and talk to her. Now that he had finally seen her, he did not know how to react, or what to do or say to her.
Standing rooted in his place, he kept his gaze focused on her, his eyes rummaging all over her figure. He watched as she walked closer to him and he suddenly had the urge the step back.
Her intense gaze was making her uncomfortable. He had never imagined that Melody would become this intimidating in his eyes. Those beautiful amber of hers were like flames that were burning him from within, intensifying the guilt he was feeling.
He was lost in his thoughts when he felt Melody and the other woman whose identity he had no idea of almost walk past him.
Snapping out of his thoughts and guilt he called, "Melody!" his voice carried both pain and regret as he called that name.
Melody stopped but did not turn to look at him. "I am sorry!" He said, making Melody shut her eyes before opening them taking a deep breath, and resuming her steps again.
Gale panicked and followed after them taking long strides. After just a few steps, he caught up to them and stopped right before Melody and blocked her path.
A frown surfaced on Melody's face for a millisecond before it disappeared and was replaced with a stoic expression making it difficult for people to read.
Stretching his hands, he attempted to take Melody's in his but before he could touch her, Abigail stopped his hands mid-way with a grip. "I am sorry sir, but, who are you?" Abigail asked even as she already knew who he was. "Are you an acquaintance of hers?"
Gale looked at her for a while before shifting his gaze to Melody again and started thinking if he should 'yes' or he should say 'no' he could decide. Saying 'yes' means accepting being an acquaintance of hers, and that would be questionable seeing as Melody had not acknowledged him as a friend.
while saying 'no' he will be saying that he does not know her and she does not know him which would bring the question, why was he acting that way with a stranger?
Pulling his hand back he said, "I am sorry, and yes, I am an old friend of hers", he looked between Abigail and Melody, and when he saw the doubtful of Abigail on him he added, "She might not recognize me because it has been a while since we last saw each other".
Abigail turned to face Melody and she nodded to her. Seeing Melody nod, Gale felt relieved at least he wouldn't look like a fool.
"Melody, I am so glad that you recognize me, please, can we talk there are some things I would like you to understand". Gale said, looking hopefully at Melody.
Ignoring him Melody turned to Abigail and said, "Don't bother with him, like he said, he is an old acquaintance of mine nothing serious there. We can go now".
They started walking inside to get the tickets for the ride leaving him behind. Seeing them leave he thought of what to do.
"Melody please, let's talk things out between us. I want to make things work once again, please give me the chance to fix the things between us," he said, there was desperation in his voice, and anyone who heard him could easily spot his desperation.
Melody stopped again and turned to him with a smile. Seeing her smile like that, he got a little confidence back and approached her, he stopped three steps away from her and said, "There are some things that I would like you to understand, in the past, I never got the chance to explain myself but I want to do that now, I didn't stand by you but I want to do now, give me another chance".
Melody's smile broadened after hearing him say those words. Seeing her smile like that Gale was excited and captivated for a moment, he was beyond happy to see that smile that the world seemed to fade away. All of his excitement vanished when he heard her words. He felt like his heart was being pierced with a sharp shard.
"There is nothing to talk about, Mr West, there is nothing between us and there will never be any in the future. And for standing by me, I think you made it quite clear in the past where you stand. And besides, don't you have a girlfriend whose side you need to stand? I heard she is facing some challenges as we speak." Melody said.
