The white sheet that was covering the canvas cascaded down on the ground with a soft rustling sound revealing the colours that were carelessly thrown on the white paper. Under the moonlight, a child came alive on the canvas covered in thorns and blood, his eyes blacker than the sky of the night with emotions that were as deep as whirlpools.
Yin Zhu looked at the child that looked both scared and angry before taking a step back, her eyes seamlessly followed the many thorns that seemed to be growing out of the skin of the young boy's body. Blood, the darkest shade of red dripped on the floor and surrounding the child were nothing but shadows, some scared, some jeering and some screaming in pain.
" Dear me, looks like you saw something you shouldn't have?" A voice jostled Yin Zhu awake from her daze as the latter turned around and looked at Old butler Jin who was smiling politely at her while looking at the canvas that had been unravelled by her accidentally.
