His hand trembled, and the burning pain increased with every passing second.
"Val…" Everly mumbled his name, but too depleted to move closer to him, she collapsed to the floor, breathing heavily.
Valerio took deep breaths, and once he had calmed himself down, he crawled towards Everly and touched her with his left hand.
"Everly." He shook her, but only a groan of exhaustion came from Everly, showing just how weak she was.
Valerio rubbed his temples, and carefully, he lifted her into his arms and carried her out of the bathroom.
He counted his steps as he walked towards the bed, and once he arrived near it, he slowly laid Everly down on the bed.
A deep grunt exited his throat, and he felt his burned palm with his other hand. "This really stings."
He stood up from the bed and called for Delarcy, who came as quickly as she could.
"Good morning, Mr Avalnzo." She greeted and Valerio lifted his head.
