"Everly! Everly, are you okay? Answer me!" Valerio, who immediately knew that something was wrong having heard the gunshot, inquired nervously, but his worry grew even more when he heard no response from Everly.
"Everly…" He continued to call her, but knowing that no response was going to come from her—having tried for a while now—Valerio's heart dropped to his stomach.
He darted his eyes around, wondering if maybe Everly's silence was a result of the gunshot, or worse, could she have been shot?
His eyes grew wide, and he immediately shook his head.
"No! She's fine!" He instantly convinced himself, not willing to let his mind trail that far.
An agitated breath exited his mouth, and he hurriedly called for Alex, who arrived as quickly as he could.
"Master." He slightly bowed to him, and Valerio turned to face him.
"I need you to go look for Everly. Find her and bring her back safely." He assigned.
