"How are you feeling today Asher," Selene asked smiling the man who lay on the bed smiling back at her.
"Yes I am feeling as strong as a horse I could handle ten girls at once," he said laughing.
"Always with the girls, you better get well quick then, " Selene teased back with a laugh.
She found him lucky that the bullet didn't hit him crucially. They almost lost him in the operating room, but luckily, he made it out.
Jake had avoided talking to her completely. He was still angry that she left the house alone and unprotected. She intended to set things right with him once she got the chance.
"You w***h what are you doing here? You want to get my son killed for real this time?" Rebecca Lynn accused storming into the room.
"Mom, can you please stop already? It wasn't Selene's fault," Asher said, defending her.
"You are so soft son, of all people shy were you with her in the first place?" She lashed at Selene giving her a disgusted look.
