Limping back towards the village chapel late in the afternoon. Both disheveled and their attire horribly bloodied, Cassius supported Aribelle as she hobbled in the door. One hand placed on Aribelle's waist to keep her from falling and the other holding hers, it acted as a crutch as she leant her weight onto it to move forward.
Cassius at first insisting that he would carry her back, Aribelle refused. Having had enough of being saved by him for one day and sufficiently recovered to walk unsteadily, they had agreed on this method as a compromise. Alleviating Aribelle's feelings of helplessness and placating Cassius's concerns of her incurring further injury, they had made slow progress walking so close to one another in this fashion.
