Chapter 27 - CH. 27: A Free Person

"Young madam…"

"Young madam…"

Heather slowly opened her eyes when she felt the light patting on her shoulder.

Then she heard someone calling her.

She could still feel her stuffy nose and a head ache. But due to the sleep she had and the medicine she took, her body was no longer as heavy as before.

"Can you get up?" Amelia asked gently.

She smiled and nodded her head, "Is everything prepared?"

Despite the obvious weariness, Amelia could see excitement in her eyes.

She was actually contemplating whether to wake Heather up when she checked and felt that she was still running a fever. But all her thoughts vanished when she aw the excitement in Heather.

"Yes, everything is prepared. But can't you have sir Ravier drive you there?"

Heather was already standing when she heard the name, her movements stopped before she slowly turned her head to Amelia.

In the first life, this person never appeared in front of her all the way until their divorce. She did saw him in the main house but that was it.

Yet somehow, he was here.

He appeared in their place?

The confusion in Heather's face made Amelia helpless, she really stopped thinking about being acquainted with the people in Porter family after everyone was pulled out the day after their wedding.

"The young master left him here to help us in moving around since there are things that need to be bought," she explained.

Heather slowly nodded her head, "I see."

"I have already prepared your bath, please get in before it gets cold," Amelia informed her.

Heather thanked her before she went to the bathroom.

Up until the door closed, Heather's face didn't have any reaction but when she was all alone after getting into the tub, her whole face turned to shock and confusion.

'Isn't these days too shocking at this moment?!?!? What was all those changes in just a mere week?!!? I wasn't doing anything major yet, right?!?'

She even tried to think back to her actions during the past week as she had her monologue inside her head.

'Did I perhaps triggered something when I returned? That's quite not right…'

Her face was filled with confusion while her head was feeling fuzzy.

She shook her head and got out, 'Let's stop thinking with this state. Better get out and prepare to leave.'

It completely slipped off her mind that there was indeed a 180 degree change that happened at this time line.

And that is her personality, with that alone the butterfly effect has occurred to the point that so many things have been affected.

'Ah, I forgot to decline the offer,' she remembered.

Because she was too shock to the fact that Ravier has actually appeared in their villa, she had forgotten to reply to Amelia that it will be fine.

Of course it will be fine, after all, she will only drive for a bit until the entrance of the mountain where a tunnel is located. After that she will exchange with her double.

Ravier who was talking to Amelia about the changes in the place was even more shock to see the person in question right in front of him.

Heather's appearance has changed but with this alone, the air around her was completely different as well.

Ravier was wondering if the person he saw a year ago was actually someone else entirely.

For even the air around her to change, it will not be a shock to him if Heather was actually part of the entertainment circle.

"Young madam, as of this day I will be assisting you and Amelia in this villa. I shall drive you anywhere you have to go," he respectfully said.

As compared to the rest of the maids from the main house, Ravier was the most respectful towards her.

He indeed saw her act as someone else but just like Amelia, he did not see Heather act out of line.

She didn't throw her weight around or did she mistreat anyone.

In fact, she respected them with enough respect and lived as quiet as possible.

She wasn't timid either because there was an air of authority around her.

Admittedly, thinking about it, this is the one thing that surely Susan didn't have.

The air of authority that will make the people around her to respect her with the right respect that she deserves.

It seems she had that air back then because she was acting differently.

But the one in front of him now didn't have it. It seems she stopped exuding it since she was acting more freely as compared to what Amelia had told him.

So even if she were to suddenly get mad and all, no one should be shock by it.

Because she was now a free person who can act the way she wanted.

That is the air she was having now.

An air where you will not know whether it was already dangerous or not.

"Thank you but at this moment, I am fine on my own," Heather replied politely referring to him sending her to the mountain.

Ravier looked at her intently, her cheeks were still flushed and her breathing indicates that she was still having difficulties due to her fever.

Heather smiled again, "I would be much more at ease."

She had an apologetic look but Ravier understood her meaning.

She was not used with having people around her except for Amelia, whom she even rarely interacts with for the past year.

To have someone suddenly accompany her, especially with her current weakened state, it was a no wonder she would decline.

Plus, Cyrus instructed that if she were to accept then he will accompany her.

But if she were to decline then they are to accept her wishes.

"I understand, please be careful on your way there."

Heather smiled happily, "Thank you."

Amelia and Ravier transferred everything to her car before she waved them goodbye.

She didn't see Maya but she couldn't bother, her plan was solid and even if those in the shadows were to follow her, they wouldn't know that a change has occurred.

After the red Veneno drove out of the garage and into the distance.

Those who were tasked to watch her from the shadows were ready to follow when suddenly a few people stopped them.

"Please spare me madam, one more chance. Please give me one more chance," Maya begged as she knelt in front of Amanda, who was seating in the sofa while leisurely sipping tea.

They are in the living room of the main house.

A fireplace was in between the two doors leading to the dinning area and kitchen. It was facing the main entrance and on the side were the sofa and coffee table.

On another was the stairs that was leading up the second floor.

The villa was bigger than the one where Heather stays and it has the Victorian era theme. With different shades of brown to color the whole place up.

Amanda raised an eyebrow.

"My son arrived home and you didn't appear. It was obvious that he fired you because you were not following my orders of serving the place. That is enough blunder that didn't deserve a second chance."

She knew how her son's mind work.

When it was her command that was not followed, he will be harsh and ruthless.

"No… I… I really am sorry, please madam!!!"

Maya crawled towards her but she was harshly kicked by Amanda with her heeled shoes.

The pointed heel even stabbed her abdomen causing it to bleed, showing the strength that Amanda placed in her kick.

Maya groaned while she held her stomach.

"You dirtied my shoes," Amanda glanced down at her shoes.

Another maid came and removed it for her before replacing the pair with another.

Then two men pulled Maya up and brough her down the basement together with the pair of shoes that Amanda was wearing moments ago.

Soon her shrieks could be heard until it slowly died down.

A path opened from the basement towards the back of the main house and a black car drove away.

Up in the top of a secluded mountain, her body was thrown off a cliff.

Her head, her neck, her arms, her legs, in short her whole body was filled with holes.

And those holes have the size of the heel of Amanda's shoes that she used to kick her a while ago.

As Maya's body was thrown off into the cliff where wild animals reside, she was also wearing those bloody red high heeled shoes.

It was the color that Amanda loves the most.

"Just like my son, I hate people who does not follow my orders," she muttered as she stood in front of the high window.

A guard appeared behind her.

"So why didn't you follow her?"

"Madam, the young master's people stopped us from following her."

Amanda raised an eyebrow, "Hmmm."

"I suppose it is fine then."

She knew Heather was well aware of the shadows but since they are still keeping up acts that showed Heather being a cared for daughter-in-law, being followed even out to the open might cause some uproar in the high society.

After all it wasn't only Porter family who has guards in the shadow, the other families as well.

'My son is truly a brilliant one,' she thought with a smile.

Heather went alone but her guards didn't seem like they were there to protect her.

If those who didn't like Porter were to know of it, then it will cause an uproar, Cyrus thought of it and stopped them from following Heather.

"And?" she asked again.

"Those people seemed to have followed that person."

Amanda chuckled, "Yes, those people are known as Cyrus' guards. It is fine this way, they will follow her and surely, they will notice something, you can just inquire. Just keep up with her social media for now."

"Yes."

"What game are you really playing, Heather Relish," she muttered again before sipping from her glass.
