"Before we start the class, I need to say something!" Lin Dongxu spoke sternly, "The classroom is a place where everyone gathers to learn. It is not a hotel or a guesthouse. It's not a place where you can come if you have the mood, and be absent when you're not in the mood!"
As he spoke, he glared directly at Qin Yan. The entire class naturally knew he was talking about her. Qin Yan knew that she was in the wrong, so she didn't speak up.
Lin Dongxu then continued. "Alright. It's time for class. This semester, we are focusing on intermediate English. We'll be using communications theory to guide our study on English…"
One class was forty-five minutes long. As Teacher Lin was strict, all the students listened attentively.
The moment the bell rang, perhaps because it was a rare occasion where Qin Yan attended class, but everyone remained in their seats instead of fleeing out like they usually did.
"Qin Yan, come to my office!" Lin Dongxu called her name.
Upon hearing this, Qin Yan stood up and followed behind him.
There were several other lecturers and professors in the classroom.
Lin Dongxu sat at his desk and glanced at her. He did not conceal the disgust in her gaze. "You better take the initiative to drop out of school."
His gaze left Qin Yan uncomfortable. She asked her in confusion. "Why?"
"You still have the face to ask? Your grades are trash. You failed four subjects in the last term. You've basically disgraced the entire Class Three!"
Qin Yan held some regret about the previous owner's attitude towards her study. "I can still retake those classes, can't I? It wasn't easy for me to get into the best school in the province. Unless there's absolutely no choice, I won't want to drop out. I seek your understanding on this, Teacher Lin."
Several other teachers in the office also spoke up. "Teacher Lin, these matters can be slowly discussed. It isn't a good idea to recommend a student to drop out so easily."
Outside the office door, a crowd of students stood by the ajar door and windows.
Clearly, everyone was very curious about Qin Yan's matters.
After all, she was always the topic of some of the best gossip matters in school. Everyone wanted to be the first to hear this.
Lin Dongxu noticed his colleagues' disapproval and immediately became enraged. "All of you, don't look as though I'm bullying my student. Perhaps the other students had fought to be here with their own hardwork and effort. However, with Qin Yan's grades, she never worked hard. I have worked my ass off to educate her, but she didn't appreciate my efforts. I don't want to drag my class down because of such student. If any teacher wants her, you can get her transferred to your class."
The scene fell into silence. It was obvious that nobody wanted to take such a student under their wings.
But everybody knew that Teacher Lin only focussed on students with good grades. He despised students with poor grades and never educated them properly. He only wanted the first place in the grade to belong to his class but he didn't bother about the overall results of the class.
Seeing that nobody was willing to speak up, Teacher Lin revealed a smug smile, "See, nobody wants to take you in. You better drop...."
"Qin Yan, are you willing to come to my class?" Teacher Wang of Class Four asked. Everybody looked over at him.
Wang Zhongyun was the homeroom teacher of Class Four. His class was filled with all the notorious students. It was labelled as the worst class of the grade.
Wang Zhongyun was a good teacher but he couldn't discipline his class. Still he hoped that everyone in the class atleast pass the grade and get into an average University. He didn't discriminate against his students and was loved by them for his lenient and unbiased nature.
"Oh, it's Teacher Wang! No wonder, you want to accept such student in your class. By the way, are you thinking of making a record for failed students in the school? Your students are already so great, and now you want to accept one more scourge in your class," Lin Dongxu said sarcastically.
Lin Dongxu and Wang Zhongyun studied from the same University. But they were previous rivals in love. The girl they fancied married Wang Zhongyun and Lin Dongxu was defeated. From that time, he regarded Wang Zhongyun as his enemy. He used to snatch all the good students from the latter's class and push over the weak students to Class Four.
Wang Zhongyun being a gentle and considerate person, never rejected any student. As expected by Lin Dongxu, Class Four became more and more notorious, thus claiming the title of worst class. Lin Dongxu often mocked Wang Zhongyun and felt a great achievement in the latter's misery.
Wang Zhongyun ignored Lin Dongxu and walked towards Qin Yan, "What do you say, Student Qin Yan?"
Qin Yan looked over at Teacher Wang. When nobody was willing to speak for her or accept her, this teacher showed his will to take her in. She knew the situation of Class Four but was not bothered by it. She was truly grateful to Teacher Wang and thus she smiled, "I am willing to join Class Four, Teacher Wang."
