While walking out, Sam noticed that Ace was not focused and was lost in his thoughts, he thought that Ace was upset with him and decided to clarify things with him.
"Sir, I am sorry that I was not fast and discreet enough to not be found". He said with his head bowed, not wanting to look Ace in the eyes.
Hearing the apology that Sam was giving he tilted his head to the side and looked at him contemplating whether he should say something to him or not. In the end, Ace chooses to calm the man.
"It's not your fault you got caught, I mean, this is Damian we are dealing with here, he is much more cunning than a Fox".
"If that is not what is bothering you, then what are you thinking about?" Sam asked with curved brows.
Ace halted in his steps for a moment making Sam halt as well. "There was something different about Damian today". Ace said and a frown surfaced and Sam's face.
"What was different about him?" Sam asked.
Ace turned to him still contemplating the things before speaking again. "He had a faint scent in him and it was not his. It was feminine". He said and resumed his steps once again.
"What do you mean, Ace?"
"The same scent was on a woman whom I came across on my way to you. Find out who she is and report to me." Ace instructed.
"I understand. But, do you know her name? And what does she look like?" Sam asked.
"I wasn't able to see her face". He said. After giving it some thought he continued, "Hack the surveillance cameras and get her information".
With that being said, Sam started working on the tablet in his hands after a couple of attempts he was able to connect to the surveillance system. He handed the tablet to Ace to find the image of the woman he just met before giving it to him to do a background check on her.
"Here, this is the footage from the President 's office all the to where we met, point out the woman and I will take care of the rest".
Ace took the tablet and went through the videos but he couldn't find her anywhere. He went through them again and again refusing to believe what he was seeing or not seeing, but the more he watched the deeper his frown got.
"Is there a problem?" Sam asked noticing the frown on the man's face.
"Yes, there is a problem. The footage from the moment I met her in the hallway is missing". He said, exasperated by the fact before his eyes.
"How is that even possible, didn't it happen just moments before?" Sam asked, even though he could not believe what he was hearing.

Inside the office, Damian returned to the work he was doing before the arrival of Ace. The door was pushed open and Ezekiel and Lloyd walked in, he lifted his gaze from the file to look at them for a moment before returning it to the document at his front. After putting down his signature on the document, he dropped the pen and closed the file. He sat up straight while Lloyd and Ezekiel sat across him.
"What was he doing?" Damian asked.
"I am not sure what they came here to do, but what I know is that I got to him before he could do anything". Ezekiel answered.
"He was bold enough to come at me in broad daylight, he must be up to something. Find out what it is and let me know. While you are at it, I will handle some of your work here". He said to Ezekiel who just gave a nod.
"If you are asking him to handle it, then what about me?" Lloyd whined, he felt like each time they were together, his existence was usually forgotten.
Damian and Ezekiel turned their heads to him with raised brows. "I was asking what about me?" he repeated.
"Hold on a second", Damian said picked up his phone from the desk, and scrolled through his contacts. Lloyd looked at him wondering what he was up to.
After some time, he placed the phone on his ear and spoke, "Miss Nova, please come to my office immediately". He said and disconnected the call after hearing confirmation from the other side.
Soon, a knock was heard and Melody came in after opening the door. She walked to the desk and gave a nod to Lloyd and Ezekiel before greeting Damian. "President Frost!"
"Mhm," Damian said with a nod and turned to face Lloyd he said, "Secretary Nova, increase the workload of Director Reign for the next three months. If he still has some spare time in between then send him to...." he could not finish when Lloyd cut him mid-sentence.
"Hey, hey dude, what was that for? Are you punishing me?" Lloyd said feeling offended.
"Didn't you ask for more work?" Damian asks with nonchalance.
"That was not the kind of work I was talking about and you know that ". Lloyd said with a sullen expression.
"I have no idea what kind of work you were talking about". Damian said with an innocent face.
"Huh? What is that supposed to mean? I want something similar to that of Ezekiel". Lloyd responded.
At the side, Ezekiel could only pinch the space between his brows hearing them like that. While Melody didn't know how to react, she just watched as they were arguing with an expression that even she didn't know what to call it. One was her boss and the other a director.
Ignoring Lloyd at his front, he turned and looked at Melody and said, " Proceed with what you have been told. Next time, he should be specific".
Melody nodded and glanced at Lloyd to see what his expression would be. Looking at him, she was surprised to see him looking like a kid who was bullied by his seniors but had no one to report to. She wanted to laugh at the expression on his face but she suppressed it.
Turning to Damian she said, "I will take my leave if there is nothing more".
Damian looked at her and wanted to say something to her but after thinking about it, he chose not to and allowed her to leave.
