Chereads / Left Behind By Time / Chapter 4 - Episode 4: Take Care Of These Brats

Chapter 4 - Episode 4: Take Care Of These Brats

Richard was walking around with five other pairs of legs following him.

From scouting to fighting and even when they were resting.

Soon, his lips twitched as he felt like he had some chicks behind him.

He looked at Spencer begrudgingly.

Spencer was leaning on a tree beside Luna, he was obviously sleeping peacefully.

This guy knows how to lead them and how to be strict when needed but he was a lazy one who loves sleeping when he knew he didn't need to do anything.

(Flashback)

"We won't leave because we can feel that we will become better as we follow you guys," Kyle stubbornly said.

He has the sound ability, he can hear as far as one kilometer which is already remarkable for his age, 16 years old. For those who are an expert in sound ability, they can actually hear as far as 5 kilometers. If trained properly, he may even surpass a lot of adults this time.

The four of them have their brows twitching for the stubbornness of these fools. They used the harsh way in sending them away, they even tried using a soft approach in sending them away but they were rebuked with their stubbornness.

Spencer sighed while scratching the back of his head before looking at Richard, who simply raised his brow.

"You take care of them."

Richard wished to rebuke but the others were looking at him in the same way as Spencer.

'Take care of these brats.'

"I don't-"

"SHHHHHH!!!!" Aaron rushed to cover his mouth before glancing at Luna.

Richard gritted his teeth.

He knew why they were throwing these people to him.

Among the five of them, he was the only one who had younger siblings.

And so taking care of the so called 'brats' would be something he is used to.

Richard sharply looked at Aaron.

Aaron raised both of his hands, seeing as he finally relented.

(End Of Flashback)

And now, in the present, Richard was not liking the fact that five chicks are following him.

He walked towards Spencer when Luna, who was beside him, suddenly stood up.

She unsheathed her sword and rushed forward.

"Look out!!!" Kyle exclaimed but soon realized that Luna did not exactly rush towards Richard, who had a dark look as he approached Spencer.

Instead she simply rushed forward and attacked an orc that appeared out of nowhere.

"Wha-"

Kyle and the others were shocked.

This orc is not simply an orc or a high orc, instead it was a great orc that should have stayed within the center part of the Dark Forest.

Luna was able to stop its rushing legs by wounding its knee.

She then jumped high with the help of an earth push before a movement Kyle and the others could not follow was executed.

The aura surrounding her screams of danger, luckily that aura was not directed at them this time around.

Though it was a lot denser than when she tried to attack them.

"What kind of movement!" Kyle exclaimed.

Not just him but the rest of his team were the same.

She truly did not stand out during the team fights. From when they were saved to when they started following the group to learn even if it's just through observation. It always seemed like she was simply fighting, nothing more.

But at this moment, as she soloed the great orc that suddenly appeared in the outer area of the Dark Forest, they were actually seeing a whole new level of battle.

No, more like experiencing for they can barely see her movements but the great orc was getting beaten up.

From time to time, they could see that the attack was heavy that the orc would obviously waver from trying to defend at the enemy it can barely see and another time, it looked like it was only grazing the skin, it was only when blood sprayed out that they knew the sharp sword had pierced through.

Her attacks were both heavy and light.

"That's sad..."

They turned when they heard Spencer's voice.

He was yawning while walking closer towards them.

"You can try and observe but you really won't learn anything from her."

"But..." Kyle wanted to say that he could follow through the sound.

But to be honest, he was also having difficulties in trying to follow because the sounds that surrounded her were both loud and quiet. It was truly difficult to follow.

Spencer looked at them.

Kyle was the tallest among the group, having a height of five feet nine inches. But Spencer was still looking down at him.

He was actually four inches taller than him.

If Kyle was to be blunt, he was already taller than most of the people around him. Only a handful was as tall as Spencer and his team.

Four inches may sound like a small number but it was still a big number when it comes to height.

Even Luna and Preshea were quite tall as well.

About five feet seven inches.

Eldon and Patrick were actually of the same height as the two of them.

Julius was the smallest among the guys, standing at five feet six inches.

While Lilian was five feet four inches.

Their group can barely reach the height of the other five since Richard and Aaron were both six feet two inches tall. They are still taller than Kyle.

Spencer chuckled seeing the look of defeat in their faces, "She is out of your league for her fighting style right now is chaotic."

He even patted Kyle in the head, "Try to continue learning through the others. Since you wished to observe then observe as much as you can. Just that it is really bad because she had taken down the great orc without giving you the chance to observe the rest in their fighting style."

Kyle was lost for words.

Truly even though this group would speak of not wanting to be treated like some kind of hero.

They were actually much kinder than most of the stronger ones from their kingdom.

They don't look down at them and despite the harsh words, they still look after them.

Even when they selfishly stayed behind to learn from them, despite their words of not wanting to in the beginning, he and his team noticed that their tempo in fighting was far slower than their first meeting. As if this group was trying to really allow them to learn while observing.

With the difference of the two ladies.

As they said, Luna's fighting style was quite chaotic while Preshea was focusing on giving buffs and support.

Julius, who was their healer, could learn with how she timed her heal and enhance the other's attacks.

It was truly just Luna whom they couldn't get a read on.

"..."

Spencer laughed when he noticed the look that Richard was giving him.

He knew he wanted him to take the reign of teaching these chicks.

"Nope."

With that he evaded the dagger that Richard suddenly threw at him with a laugh before looking for a spot to rest while waiting for the battle to end.

His sleep a while ago was interrupted when Luna suddenly exuded a dangerous aura.

Richard may not have that much change in his face but one could say that he grumpily took back the dagger stuck in the tree trunk, with the gloomy aura surrounding him.

Aaron and Preshea shrugged.

They returned to their cooking, they are the ones tasked for dinner this time around, they were simply interrupted by the appearance of the great orc.

Kyle and the others were once again in shock to see the attitude of the other four.

And a thought came to them.

'Just how strong are these people?'

When they first met them, they were fighting three high orcs with the five of them.

When Aaron rescued them, he took down a white wolf pack all on his own.

And while they followed them, they noticed that their movement became sharper and sharper.

It was as if they were here to simply try out their attack patterns and styles.

The strength they are showing is surely not yet the real deal.

They could be even more stronger than this.

"They could be on par with the elite knights in the kingdom," Julius commented.

"No, they could be as strong as the captains."

"Or the personal guards of the royal family."

Each started giving their opinion as they watched Luna end the life of the great orc.

"Preshea," Spencer once again woke up from his sleep and called for Preshea when Luna ended the great orc's life.

"Check on the body of that great orc. Before only the inner area of the Dark Forest's monsters were coming out but a great orc appeared. Check if there is something in it then maybe we will find out just what it is that's causing the disturbance in the Dark Forest," he instructed.

Preshea nodded her head.

She took out flesh and some blood before she started checking on it thoroughly, checking if some kind of chemical were in it.

After she left the corpse, Spencer took it to himself to burn the body.

Kyle and the others watched as the group that seemed laid back a while ago turned serious once the great orc was defeated.
