Chapter 47 - Episode 47: You Are Younger

"I think that you are forgetting something here," the one who seemed to be a high ranking one, squinted his eyes towards Spencer.

Spencer simply indifferently looked at him.

And that irritated him even more, that he was not feeling guilty or remorseful with his actions.

"You are here for punishment. I think you have to be reminded of that."

Spencer smirked, "I am indeed in a punishment. That is why I am here. But I am not here to be their punching bag, instead I am here to be their swordsmanship trainer. Mind you, not an ability trainer. So why would I let them make use of me as a punching bag with their abilities. Can you answer that, sir?"

"Even so. How can you injure them?"

"Injure them? I think your eyes are playing tricks on you. In what part are they injured? Even if you ask a healer right now, or a vision ability user, you won't see any injuries on them."

Spencer stared at him with a challenging look.

He frowned before looking at a healer near him to check on the fifteen knights.

The healer also frowned when she found no injuries on them.

The captain then looked at a vision ability user and even he had seen nothing.

"Why are they groaning in pain then? Some of them even fainted? And the power you released," he started interrogating Spencer.

Spencer sighed, "I already told you that they are trying to use ability on me so I stopped them. If they are groaning in pain yet has no injuries then there is nothing I can do about that."

"They are nobles!!" he gritted his teeth.

Spencer raised an eyebrow before smirking.

Now it is finally out in the open, the real reason he was seething mad without knowing what exactly has happened.

"I see. Since I am a commoner, how dare I hurt the nobles. I am here for punishment. How dare I raise my hands against the nobles next only to the royal."

He even slowly nodded his head in understanding.

And his action brought more irritation to this person.

"Who are you anyway?" Spencer added more fuel to the flame.

As expected, this person's face turned red to blue from the rage he was feeling.

"I am the captain of the Green knights. The knights directly under the princess. I am Henry Bishop," he gritted his teeth in response.

Realization came to Spencer that he ended up laughing.

"Oh my stomach."

He was even holding on to his stomach while laughing so hard.

"What are you laughing at!!!" Henry roared.

Spencer wiped the tears in his eyes after laughing so hard.

"Well, you could have just said that I had bullied your brother. I mean, I would have understood it even more when your anger comes from that."

The renowned count family's son, the proud lighting ability user that led the others in attacking Spencer was named Ervin, Ervin Bishop.

Henry's face darkened further, he ended up pulling his sword out, rushing to Spencer.

Spencer instantly turned serious, he did not expect that these brothers would be alike, they attack once they snap.

He jumped up avoiding the forward thrust before turning in the air, to hit him on the back but Henry was able to turn and parry his attack.

He twisted his body to change the position of their swords before raising it a bit in swift motion then hitting Henry's sword again. The distance of him raising his sword and attacking again was short but the heaviness was there. Just like what Nicholas thought, Spencer's attacks rely on strength.

Henry had not expected that he was caught off guard, the sword was pushed back by this attack.

Spencer pulled his sword back before thrusting forward, taking that slight shock from Henry as a chance to attack again..

But Henry was not the captain of a royal knight if he could so easily be defeated.

He was able to stabilize himself before defending from the thrust, then pushed himself back to keep distance between them. He knew that such close contact combat was the advantage of Spencer. He was able to know in that short bout that they had.

He was also made aware of the reason why he was placed here as the trainer.

This person's aura, he had just realized that he can barely feel it.

Of course they did not know about the injury, leading to him thinking that Spencer was strong.

Very strong.

But he was slightly wrong.

Spencer was indeed very strong, they wouldn't become heroes if not. But at this moment, he can barely pull out his strength.

He had used such a wide area of attack and had to exert more effort in order to cancel all of the fifteen attacks. All of which weren't weak at all. Especially the planned lightning rain.

And then he was suddenly attacked by a captain of a royal knight. It was obvious that this person is strong in order to land that position... if connections weren't used.

But Spencer doubts it. Because he can tell that Antlia Kingdom is way different from Circinus Kingdom, whose knights were all positioned due to connection and background.

And so, he also did not let his guard down on this person.

But the bout this morning with Nicholas and that wide area of attack, it indeed was already too much for him to prolong this fight.

Henry actually calmed down and turned more serious.

Spencer's eyes went wide.

And just as Henry was about to attack again, he raised both hands, shocking all those who were immersed in their battle.

Henry had to take a lot of effort in order to stop himself.

"What are you doing?" he complained.

'Have I triggered something in him?' Spencer thought after hearing his question, his lips twitching.

"I never agreed for a duel," he said in a matter-of-fact tone.

Henry blinked and his face was blank for a moment before realizing what had just happened..

He came here to see what was going on and found his brother groaning in pain.

He confronted the new trainer. Not liking him for climbing up through connection and becoming a trainer despite being a commoner.

And when Spencer laughed, he just snapped and attacked him.

But as they battled his hunger for facing such a strong opponent kicked in, he actually turned serious!!

Henry cleared his throat before sheathing his sword back.

"Good that you stopped before I stopped you."

All of them turned their heads at Maxwell, he once again suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Spencer remained holding his hands up in the air with an uncertain smile.

"Put your hand down. Are you trying to surrender to a crime?" Maxwell commented.

Spencer grinned before dropping his hands.

Maxwell sighed.

Well, he had to take more precaution with this person since the king explicitly told him to keep an eye on Spencer.

Meaning he needed to take care of him in order to be at his top shape while he learns under Archibald.

'Why is my work increasing by the day?' he thought while shaking his head before looking at Ervin.

"Be honest and tell me what happened?" nothing could be read from his tone.

"He... He insulted us first by playing around with us. We are here to train but he is here for punishment."

Ervin had already recovered from the pain, yet was still bewildered as to how that happened.

Maxwell looked at Spencer who looked like he was looking at a child after hearing Ervin.

'You are younger,' Maxwell reprimanded in his head.

"How about your side?" he then said.

"They came to me during our night training. Intending to attack me with their abilities. I simply retaliated. It was never said that I can't retaliate while spending this year in training these upcoming knights," he replied without care.

He was really not guilty,  he simply retaliated.

"He's lying!!!" Ervin gritted his teeth and looked at his brother.

Henry chose to not involve himself in this. Since he knew that Maxwell is a just person.

Ervin was even angrier at this.

"I think you are forgetting something sir Ervin Bishop," Maxwell started.

He looked around, "And the rest of you as well."

They looked at him in bewilderment.

"The training ground is clearly being seen from the balcony of the king's office. Have you forgotten? And he has a habit of watching the training during morning and night."

The color of the faces of those who chose to side with Ervin, and Ervin himself, drained upon this realization.

Since they couldn't accept Spencer, they had forgotten this detail.

They all turned to the balcony and despite the distance they could see that the king was standing there. He was facing them before turning back to his office after a few seconds.

Maxwell shook his head when he noticed that Spencer's lips were parted a bit while looking at the balcony.

"Why do you look so shocked?"

He was sure that Spencer was well aware of it based on his strength.

"I did not know that he was watching there. Did he see me sleeping on other times then?" Spencer replied.

Maxwell didn't know how to react since what they are talking about right now was about the knight trainees attacking him. But Spencer was more concerned about Archibald seeing him sleep?

Based on his current reaction.
