Chapter 3 - Episode 3: I Hate The Attention

It was not a one hit attack but it was still a smooth battle against a pack of white wolves while also ensuring they weren't placed in danger.

Aaron was not receiving any injuries as well.

Though by the time he was done, he was drenched with the blood of the white wolves.

"Yuck," he uttered, brandishing his sword to get off some blood that was on it as well.

The surrounding turned silent and when he turned to look at the nobles he shivered at the way they were looking at him.

"Don't look at me like that," he spoke while rubbing his arms.

They all blinked at the same time. As they watched him fight, they all ended up being in awe and watched him like he was a hero.

And that same look seemed to have what caused him to have shivers running down his spine.

"You are amazing," the one leading these nobles complimented.

"Amazing, my face."

He turned around to make sure that there wouldn't be anymore monsters lying in wait to ambush them.

"I am Kyle Longhurst from Antlia Kingdom," he introduced himself.

Aaron frowned and turned to him, "I do not need your name. What I need is for you guys to just leave the forest if you still cherish your lives."

Despite the fact that he was still talking harshly towards them, the five of them no longer felt the anger they felt a while ago.

Instead, they actually started realizing that despite the harshness and coldness, all he was saying was for them to leave. It was the same as trying to save them from the abnormalities of the forest.

And if Aaron were to know of their thoughts, he would have felt more goosebumps. For he was not thinking this way at all.

Instead it was his freaking sense of duty that was already engraved in his bones that made him move.

No, not just him but the rest of them as well.

"I am Lilian Claudonia," the only lady introduced herself as well.

"I am Julius Claudonia," the healer followed.

Based on their faces, it seems that the two are twins.

"Patrick Hill."

"Eldon Lidgett."

As they introduced themselves, Aaron's brows furrowed even more.

"Like I said, I don't need your names. Just get the hell out of this forest!!!"

He was losing his patience and was already wishing that he did not come here at all.

"But we wish to follow you and learn from you," Kyle said.

To be honest, the five of them showed a hint of shock in their faces when he simply berated them, showing no recognition of their names.

With that they knew that this group must have been a part of Circinus Kingdom.

"No!!!" Aaron instantly rejected their wish.

"You kids should just go back home," he added, making them frown.

"Basing it with your look. We can tell that we are just a few years apart. You could be of the same age as my sister," Kyle commented.

Aaron pursed his lips before frowning again, "That is not the case here. Go back, all of you. Are you going to put your lives in danger again?"

"Are you worried about us now?" Lilian asked.

"No!!! Why should I?!?!"

Somehow Aaron seemed to be contradicting himself at the moment.

His face darkened before turning his back on them.

"I don't care anymore."

He then used his wind to leave them behind.

"This stupid  habit, that is engraved in the bones. Why can't we just leave it behind as well? And those looks... those damn looks..."

"What are you doing?"

"Those damn WAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

Aaron, who was muttering to himself as he returned to his group, had his heart jumped up when Spencer suddenly appeared right in front of him. His whole body was covered in blood.

"Are you trying to make my heart stop?" he complained, clutching on to his left chest.

"No. Why would I want you to fall in love with me?" Spencer rolled his eyes.

Aaron did the same, "You and that sense of yours. I am asking you if you are trying to kill me. Suddenly popping out of nowhere in this dark forest with that look of yours."

"We are in the Dark Forest and this place is filled with monsters," Spencer replied in a matter-of-fact tone.

"And look who's talking," he added before Aaron could rebuke.

Aaron looked down at himself and realized that he was indeed the same as Spencer at the moment.

"Come on. I am on my way to the river. The other three are done cleaning up. I was the only one left."

Spencer walked ahead and the two arrived at a nearby river.

It was a good thing that despite the fact that they are in Dark Forest, there are still places where one could clean up. But one needs to still be on guard with the monsters using the place as a bait for people to come clean up only to be attacked.

Though it doesn't seem like this was a matter to be wary of for the two of them, for as they talk, some smaller monsters are trying to attack them. Only to end up falling to their death with the powers of these two.

"So, what were you muttering about to yourself a while ago?" Spencer asked again.

He already checked and saw that Aaron was able to leave the battle unscathed.

"Don't remind me. Those guys actually started looking at me like some kind of stupid hero after I defeated those white wolves. Geez, if you are strong enough anyone can do that. Why are they lumping everyone they deemed as strong into the titles of heroes?"

Aaron shook his head as he removed his shirt for washing.

Spencer did the same.

"You really hate that word, don't you?" he then laughed at it.

"Who wouldn't?" Aaron growled.

In the end, the two returned to the camp and found that both Preshea and Luna were already asleep.

Spencer yawned before lying down, instantly falling asleep.

"I envy him, sleeping so easily," Aaron said, looking at Richard.

He was just complaining to him about what he experienced with those people who do not listen to warnings. But as his personality goes, Richard simply listened, not saying a word.

Aaron got tired of talking to the "wall" and he also went to sleep.

Richard was the one tasked to guard for the night.

The five of them do not guard every two hours or so. Instead, a different person will guard every single night.

Richard watched his four team mates sleep before looking up in the sky.

He was always the quiet one among them, sometimes not even his group of friends would know what he was thinking.

But as quiet as he is, he was also a good listener. Though he does not reply to his friend, he does show no sign of being bored from his friend's stories.

His eyes went to Preshea before going to Luna.

After a few minutes, he muttered "Changes."

Sadness washed over his face as he looked back up in the sky.

Yet, his eyes weren't focusing on the stars but it seemed to be focusing on something else.

Something farther than the sky above him.

The next day, the five of them continued roaming the outer side of the Dark Forest.

"Can I just hit them?" Aaron complained.

As they battle it out with different outer area monsters, they know some people are following them.

"Leave them be," Spencer replied.

"Somehow I am actually feeling like we have some chicks behind us," Preshea commented next.

Aaron shook his head, "I hate the attention."

"No one likes it," Spencer sighed.

*SWOOSH*

But soon regretted his words as someone suddenly decided to go ahead and attack those so called "chicks".

All four of them turned in a panic.

Aaron used his wind to catch up to her.

*CLANG*

He breathed out when he was able to stop her blade from splitting Kyle into two.

Kyle, who was stunned at first at how fast she moved, ended up falling to the ground. His knees turned weak at the sight of the blade a few centimeters away from his face.

"Luna stop!!" Spencer and the other two caught up.

Luna stopped her struggles with Aaron before sheathing her sword.

She quietly walked to a nearby tree and leaned on it.

Spencer watched her every movement before sighing in relief. He placed his hand on Aaron's shoulder, showing his gratitude for catching up to Luna before she did something wrong.

Aaron sheathed his sword as well before looking down at his hand.

"Are you alright?" Spencer squatted down in front of Kyle.

Kyle slowly nodded his head, he was simply in shock and in fear.

She moved so fast that he was unable to react to her at all.

He slowly looked towards the lady whom they always see as someone with her eyes closed.

She was fighting like normal with the monsters.

"Normal" that is, that they didn't truly check on her. But to think she was capable of attacking like that.

If not for Aaron, he would have lost his life today.
