Chapter 11 - Episode 11: For A Thousand Years

Luna's brows twitched, she was sure that man's spine must be broken.

"That man might end up being paralyzed," she said to Spencer.

He could only shake his head.

"Why am I having difficulties in controlling my body?" she asked before jumping up when another two enemies attacked her at the same time.

She was using the sword to clash with theirs while using either her fist or her foot to hit them.

All attacks were fluid, there were no wasted movements at all. Though it was apparent that her words a while ago were the truth. She can barely control her strength, sometimes it was strong, and sometimes it was not enough.

"She did not seem like she rusted up at all," Aaron breathed deeply.

Speaking was difficult but he couldn't hold his comments for long.

"But I bet, she'll be complaining later on once she's done. She is frowning now due to being unable to control her strength properly," Spencer replied.

Zedock was completely stupefied, what is going on?

Wasn't this person having difficulties a while ago?

He had noticed how her movements slowed down halfway through their journey. That is why he thought she could have been the weakest. But why is she fighting against fifteen people with ease?

They couldn't even graze her while they were being beaten black and blue.

She flicked her hair back after hitting the last knight. Now, only Zedock was left conscious.

"Seeing as the barrier is still up, I suppose it is you who is controlling it," she flicked the sword as if blood was in it.

She momentarily stopped when she realized what she was doing before shaking her head.

"Now, are you going to send a signal or are we going to let all those beasts devour all of you instead?"

"M- MONSTER!!!" Zedock shouted before pulling out a parchment.

He activated it using his mana and he and the rest of his team was enclosed in a bright light before all of them disappeared.

"He dared call me a monster with this face," Luna complained.

*GROWL*

She scratched the back of her head, "Well since he's gone, the barrier is gone as well."

"I suppose I should commend him for not leaving anyone behind," she commented as she walked back to where the others were resting.

"We don't have time," she extended her hand to Spencer.

"You can't use your ability yet," Spencer said.

"Do you think we have a choice? When you warned me a while ago, I realized what was wrong. But at this moment since you didn't wish for us to kill those people and allowed them to leave then we can only do this. Give me your hand and think of a coordinate," she rolled her eyes at him.

Spencer sighed, he could only do what she had said.

He reached out to hold her hand, then Luna took hold of Richard's hand, while Richard held on Preshea and Preshea held on Aaron. He, in the end, held on to Spencer's other hand.

After getting the coordinate from  Spencer, white light enveloped the five of them expanding from Luna. And just as the beasts are rushing to them, this white light shot up to the sky and the five of them disappeared.

*BLARGH*

Aaron wiped his mouth after bringing out everything he had eaten since yesterday.

His face is pale as he simply dropped dead on the grass.

"I will never get used to that," he said in a tired voice.

The other three were the same, they were pale and were lying flat on the grass.

A river is running beside them while the grass they are lying down has small flowers, it blankets the ground while swaying with the soft wind that is blowing, giving off a calming feeling.

"Now, care to explain what is going on?" Luna asked after a while.

After coming out, she looked around and found that they were in an open area.

Everything was beautiful but she felt like she did not know the place at all.

Spencer sighed and slowly got up.

Luna sighed as well before walking over to them.

"Let's talk later. You guys are in tatters. And I can feel that something is wrong with all of you."

She took Preshea's waist bag.

There are some ointments and bandages.

She frowned, "You guys are not being healed and you have no healing potions. Am I going crazy for thinking that something is truly wrong with all of you? In the first place, why was I hit a while ago without realizing it? I may have lost consciousness but surely I would have woken up when hit like that."

As she spoke she got even more confused.

"When did I get changed? Was I sleepwalking or something? And those people, who are they? I mean I don't remember them from our kingdom. No wait..."

She tilted her head to the side, "Why are we in that forest? Weren't we at the top of the mountain range?"

She looked around and saw the mountain range she was talking about then she turned to see the dark forest.

The mountain range separates this side of the land from the other side, while the Dark Forest runs perpendicular to it.

"I was confused a while ago when I asked you to think about the coordinate. But I guess we are still in the vicinity of Circinus Kingdom. Yet why does it feel so different?"

Despite nagging at them, she helped them one by one in tending to the wounds they sustained from the battle a while ago.

Once she was done, she sat on a rock nearby and faced the four of them.

"Spencer?"

"Well, you see..."

Spencer took a deep breath, "I don't know what to answer first."

Luna's lips twitched.

She cleared her throat, indeed she had asked too many questions. Where will he start his explanation?

"Never mind. Rest for a bit longer then we'll talk."

About half an hour later, she finally decided to ask.

"First, why are we in the Dark Forest?"

"We took up a mission-"

"More like pulled into a mission," Aaron interrupted.

"Aaron," Luna warned.

Aaron raised both his hands before acting like he was zipping his mouth with one hand.

"As I was saying, we were on a mission by Duke Wakefield in escorting his nephew Zedock Wakefield to Antlia Kingdom."

"Wait, Duke Wakefield? Was there a Wakefield Dukedom in Circinus kingdom? Was that mission from Circinus Kingdom? No before anything else, mission?!?"

Richard rolled his eyes before lying back down.

Aaron was suppressing his laughter while Preshea was agape.

She had realized the word mission too late.

"I think I'll just start somewhere else, Luna. Starting from here will only confuse you even more," Spencer sighed.

Luna massaged the space between her brow.

She is indeed getting even more confused by the minute at the same time, she's starting to feel her head aching. Not that she can't tolerate it.

"Fine, you start somewhere then."

"Luna, you have been accompanying us for two years now, while being asleep."

Luna blinked, "I... I can sleep and walk now. Isn't that amazing?"

Aaron could not hold it in and started laughing, "I don't know how your mind works."

Spencer looked at him and he could only stop.

"Yes, Luna. You were not just sleepwalking with us but instead, you are fighting and living like normal with us for the past two years while you are sleeping."

Luna did not expect that "I knew I was strong but I did not expect that my body could do that."

Then she thought of something, "I did not kill anyone while I was asleep, right?"

"You almost did, a few times," Preshea was the one who answered.

"Oh, it seems that my killing intent has not subsided for the two years that I was asleep. I mean those whom we fought a while ago turned vigilant the moment I released it, it seems that it is still as strong as when we needed to fight that demon."

There are beasts and monsters in the world. But their greatest enemies are still the demons who would appear from time to time with strength unmatchable to anyone. It is also during these times that people are trained to defeat the rise of demons.

And when a group kills a demon, it is then they are granted the title of 'Hero'. A title that could match the title of a Duke. They are that much revered.

The four looked at one another while turning serious.

Even Aaron who was still suppressing his laughter moments ago turned serious with her words.

"Luna, there is one more thing you need to know before I elaborate on all the events that happened a while ago."

She stopped thinking about how she must control her bloodlust from here on out when Spencer spoke.

"Why do you all look so grim? What is going on?"

"Luna, you weren't asleep for just two years."

"Are you saying that I had been asleep far longer before I started sleepwalking?" she asked.

Spencer nodded his head, "Yes, and that it wasn't only you who was asleep far longer before you started sleepwalking."

She frowned at his words.

"To be honest, all of us fell asleep..."

"We didn't change that much in our physical appearance. Maybe about five years?" she tried guessing.

Spencer shook his head, "A thousand years, Luna. We fell into a deep slumber for a thousand years after that battle."
